During regular lunch hours, Yeoksam Seafood Hot Pot Bijindo offers a dedicated lunch menu centered around its famous seafood hot pot.
Since we arrived early and had reserved beforehand, we were able to order the Seafood Ban Sang Set for Two, one of the restaurant’s most satisfying meals.
The menu itself is refreshingly simple.
For dinner, most diners order one of the seafood set meals to share, while lunchtime regulars almost always choose the signature seafood hot pot.

A Seafood Feast Worth Waiting For

Because we ordered the Ban Sang Set, our dishes took a little longer to prepare than the individual hot pots arriving at nearby tables.
Once everything arrived, however, it became obvious why.

The table was completely covered with beautifully presented seafood.
Every ingredient looked incredibly fresh, generously portioned, and carefully prepared. It felt like serving guests a premium seafood feast rather than an ordinary restaurant meal.
The highlight, of course, was the famous seafood hot pot.
Unlike many Korean soups, Bijindo’s broth contains no artificial flavor enhancers. Instead, the kitchen builds its flavor using years of experience, fresh seafood, aromatic green onions, chili peppers, and their own house seasoning paste.
The result is a broth that’s spicy, clean, naturally sweet, and deeply satisfying.
A whole octopus sits proudly on top, surrounded by an impressive mountain of fresh shellfish.
The first task?
Eat enough clams to finally reach the soup underneath.
Every shell opens to reveal plump, juicy clam meat, and after enjoying several of them, one spoonful of the broth explains exactly why locals willingly line up outside.
Premium Seafood Beyond the Soup
The Ban Sang Set includes much more than the famous hot pot.

One of the standout dishes was the grilled abalone.
Each piece was surprisingly large—almost extra-large in size—and served warm with roasted ginkgo nuts. The buttery aroma combined perfectly with the naturally chewy texture of the abalone.
There were six generous pieces, making it easy to enjoy without feeling like you had to ration every bite.

Another surprise came from the blood cockles.

These weren’t the small cockles commonly served in Korean side dishes.
They were nearly four times larger, incredibly plump, and delicious dipped into the accompanying seasoned soy sauce.

The sliced octopus sashimi was equally impressive.
Tender, clean, and free from any fishy taste, it paired beautifully with sesame oil and salt.

Even the takowasabi deserved attention.
The wasabi already packs quite a punch, so I’d recommend resisting the temptation to add more. I learned that lesson the hard way.
Even the Side Dishes Shine

Good seafood deserves good side dishes, and Yeoksam Seafood Hot Pot Bijindo certainly delivers.

The kimchi was especially memorable.
Its refreshing acidity paired perfectly with steamed rice and seafood, creating one of those simple combinations that never gets old.
By the end of the meal, we’d enjoyed spicy seafood soup, premium shellfish, grilled abalone, octopus, and countless clams—all in one incredibly satisfying lunch.
It felt both comforting and surprisingly healthy.
