In the heart of Yeoksam, where prices are typically steep, MANTANG Sushi offers a delightful surprise with its affordable sushi sets priced under 10,000 KRW. This sushi spot opens even on weekends—a rare find in the area—which was perfect for my dad and me when we had errands nearby.

MANTANG Sushi Yeoksam is conveniently located about a 10-15 minute walk from Gangnam Station Exit 4. While it’s slightly off the main streets, the restaurant offers parking behind the building, making it easy to drive there without much hassle.
MANTANG Sushi Yeoksam Hours
Open Daily: 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM (Last order at 8:30 PM)
Break Time: 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Interior Ambiance of Yeoksam Restaurant, Mantang Sushi
The interior is cozy yet efficient, designed to cater to the lunchtime rush with mostly two- and four-person tables. The single-person dining bar is especially convenient, as many visitors dine solo during the busy lunch hour. With seating for about ten tables and an open kitchen that gives a view of the chef in action, the ambiance has a clean, Japanese feel to it.
The chef’s attention to detail and friendly service shine through as he moves between preparing meals and checking in with guests to make sure everyone has what they need.
Menu and Ordering
The menu is packed with a variety of options, from sushi and sashimi to tempura and grilled dishes. Whether you’re looking for a satisfying lunch or a light dinner with drinks, MANTANG Sushi has you covered. What’s even better? If you order sushi (even outside of the set meals), a complimentary mini udon comes with your order, so you don’t have to add extra to enjoy a warm bowl of soup.
Today, we opted for a couple of affordable yet filling options from their “Happiness for 10,000 KRW” menu:
- Today’s Sushi Set (10 pieces) – 13,000 KRW
- Assorted Sushi Set (12 pieces) – 21,000 KRW
- Grilled Mero (Patagonian Toothfish) – 18,000 KRW
Affordable Lunch Options
The “Happiness for 10,000 KRW” offer is what makes MANTANG Sushi stand out. Until 3 PM, they serve affordable lunch sets, including gyudon (beef bowl), sushi sets, and soy-marinated shrimp bowls, making it a lunchtime favorite for office workers in Yeoksam.
Tasting Experience at Yeoksam Restaurant, Mantang Sushi
Once seated, the server brought out a refreshing salad, which added a light touch to the meal. We also requested to replace the salmon in our sushi with other types, as neither my dad nor I are big fans of it, and they were kind enough to accommodate our request.
The sushi came out with a noticeable difference in quality between the two sets. My dad’s Assorted Sushi Set included a mix of premium cuts like white fish, eel, and abalone, all meticulously prepared. He especially enjoyed the tender tuna and noted that the eel was perfectly seasoned and cooked.
My Today’s Sushi Set featured 10 different pieces of fish, with each one distinct and flavorful. It appears that the selection changes daily, making it exciting for returning diners. I particularly enjoyed the variety, from tender white fish to lightly torched cuts.
Each piece of sushi had a generous cut of fish that truly satisfied, making for a filling meal. And, of course, the complementary mini udon provided a comforting warm balance to the cool, fresh sushi.
To complete our meal, we ordered the Grilled Mero, which was rich and flaky. A squeeze of fresh lemon brought out its subtle flavors, and it paired beautifully with a warm sip of sake.
Additional Perks and Payment Options
Aside from being budget-friendly, MANTANG Sushi also accepts payment options like ZeroPay and BPlus Meal Vouchers, a convenient bonus for nearby office workers.
Leaving fully satisfied, with both our taste buds and wallets intact, we were delighted by this affordable find in Yeoksam. With prices under 10,000 KRW, it’s challenging to find this level of quality, even at local supermarkets these days.
Whether you work nearby, have a reason to be in the area, or are simply craving sushi, MANTANG Sushi Yeoksam is worth a visit. I’m already planning my next weekday lunch visit to enjoy their “Happiness for 10,000 KRW” special!
