Ttukseom Curry Restaurant

Whenever I’m around Ttukseom Station and want a comforting meal, there’s one place I return to again and again—SOKOA Ttukseom.

Among the many restaurants near Ttukseom, this cozy Japanese-style fusion restaurant has become one of my favorite places for solo dining.

The biggest surprise?

Every time I visit, nearly 80% of the customers are Japanese. Watching Japanese diners enjoy the food with genuine satisfaction says a lot about the authenticity of the flavors.

Ttukseom Curry Restaurant

My personal favorite is Ttukseom Curry Restaurant SOKOA‘s famous Three Curry Plate, and if there’s one tip I can give, it’s this:

Always add the perfectly ripened avocado.

It completely transforms the meal.

After finishing a busy day, I stopped by once again for a simple but satisfying dinner.

Interior of Ttukseom Curry Restaurant SOKOA: Minimal, Modern, and Perfect for Solo Dining

Ttukseom Curry Restaurant

Ttukseom Curry Restaurant SOKOA has several branches throughout Korea, and I’ve visited quite a few of them.

Still, the Ttukseom location remains my favorite.

The interior feels noticeably more refined, from the modern design to the beautiful food presentation.

Most tables seat two people, while window-side counter seating is perfect for solo diners like me.

Tables can also be combined for groups, making the restaurant surprisingly flexible despite its compact size.

One thoughtful detail I always appreciate is the built-in storage beneath each chair, allowing guests to tuck away bags and jackets while dining.

The entire restaurant uses a clean white-and-wood color palette that creates a calm atmosphere without unnecessary decoration.

An Open Kitchen That Inspires Confidence

The open kitchen is always spotless.

No matter when I visit, everything looks clean, organized, and professionally maintained.

One thing always catches my attention before I even order—the beautifully ripened avocados displayed above the kitchen.

Just looking at them tells you they’re perfectly ready to eat.

As an avocado lover, I honestly can’t resist adding avocado to almost every dish.

Another bonus?

Ttukseom Curry Restaurant SOKOA is pet-friendly, making it a convenient option for visitors exploring Seoul with their dogs.

Menu of Ttukseom Curry Restaurant SOKOA

Even the menu design reflects Ttukseom Curry Restaurant SOKOA‘s playful personality.

The featured dishes are displayed on fabric banners throughout the restaurant, while the table menus resemble illustrated sketchbooks.

Although Japanese curry is the signature specialty, the menu also includes:

  • Rice bowls
  • Katsu dishes
  • Cold udon
  • Seasonal avocado dishes
  • Sandwiches

I’ve visited enough times to know that almost everything here is worth ordering.

During warmer months, I especially enjoy the avocado cold udon.

This visit, however, was entirely about curry.

After debating between the three signature curries once again, I returned to my favorite—the SOKOA Curry, which lets you enjoy all three signature flavors in one plate.

Of course, I added avocado without hesitation.

And since I was particularly hungry, I also ordered the Ebi Katsu Sandwich on the side.

Signature Three Curry Plate

Presentation has always been one of Ttukseom Curry Restaurant SOKOA‘s strengths.

Each curry is beautifully plated, making it highly photogenic.

Personally, I think the dishes look even better during lunchtime when natural sunlight fills the dining room.

Dinner lighting is a little dimmer, so photographers may prefer visiting earlier in the day. Still, the meal looked absolutely delicious.

Tomato & Plum Ade

For the first time, I ordered the Tomato & Plum Ade.

At first sip, it tasted surprisingly sweet.

After stirring thoroughly, however, the flavors balanced beautifully, creating a refreshing drink that paired nicely with the curry.

SOKOA Curry: Three Signature Flavors

Ttukseom Curry Restaurant

Ttukseom Curry Restaurant

Ttukseom Curry Restaurant SOKOA‘s signature dish features three different curries served with beautifully molded rice.

Each curry offers its own personality.

The staff recommends enjoying them in order—from the mildest to the boldest—and even provides a small serving spoon to make tasting each one easy.

1. Ebi Curry

The first curry is wonderfully creamy.

Its rich shrimp flavor and smooth texture almost resemble a luxurious cream soup.

It’s mild enough for nearly anyone to enjoy.

Adding a couple of slices of ripe avocado makes it even richer.

2. Keema Curry

The second curry introduces noticeably more spice.

Made with finely minced pork and onions, it’s topped with a soft egg yolk that mixes beautifully into the sauce.

Compared to the first curry, this one has a stronger seasoning with subtle Asian spices layered into the traditional Japanese curry base.

It’s actually the flavor that makes me wish there were just a little more rice.

3. Tori Curry

The final curry—and my absolute favorite—is the Tori Curry.

This is also the spiciest of the three.

Made with tender chicken and a blend of more than five spices carefully adjusted for Korean tastes, it delivers warmth without becoming overwhelmingly hot.

Whenever I order just one curry instead of the sampler, this is always my choice.

Once again, the perfectly ripened avocado elevates every bite by adding buttery richness that balances the spice beautifully.

Ebi Katsu Sandwich

Since I was especially hungry, I ordered SOKOA’s Ebi Katsu Sandwich for the first time.

I’m so glad I did.

Thick, juicy shrimp cutlets are tucked inside perfectly toasted bread, creating an irresistible contrast between crispy coating and tender shrimp.

If you’re dining with someone else, I highly recommend ordering one sandwich to share alongside your curry.

It completes the meal perfectly.

Final Thoughts about Ttukseom Curry Restaurant SOKOA

Every visit reminds me why Ttukseom Curry Restaurant SOKOA remains one of my favorite restaurants in the neighborhood.

This time, the combination of perfectly ripened avocado and the signature three-curry plate made the meal even more memorable.

Watching table after table of Japanese customers enjoying dinner almost makes you wonder whether you’ve stepped into Tokyo instead of Seoul.

For anyone looking for:
