Looking for a Sungshin Women University restaurant for a calm date? Seoul Bangkok serves modern Thai comfort food—Pu Pad Pong Curry with soft crab, balanced Pad Thai, and friendly service in a quiet residential alley.
Sungshin Women University Restaurant: Seoul Bangkok — A Quiet Thai Spot Where Pu Pad Pong Curry & Pad Thai Both Win

Sometimes the best “college area restaurants” aren’t on the main street.
Sungshin Women University restaurant, Seoul Bangkok is exactly that kind of place—tucked into a quiet residential alley a little away from the busy Sungshin Women University main road. And honestly? That’s what made it even better.
It’s the kind of hidden gem you almost want to keep to yourself. Not because it’s hard to love—because it’s too easy to love.
This is a Thai restaurant run with full heart by a chef with 10 years of Thai-cuisine experience, but the vibe isn’t “overly local, noisy, souvenir-heavy Thai.” Instead, it feels modern, clean, and stylish—true to the name “Seoul Bangkok,” like a small Bangkok moment right in the middle of Seoul.
I saved it for a while, slightly worried the herbs and spices might be strong. So I chose it as a calm Sungshin date spot with my mom (she’s like me—totally fine with spices).
And the result?
Not aggressively “local” in a way that scares people off. Just simply—delicious.
Which means my revisit plan is already locked in: 500% coming back with Bitmuli.

Interior of Sungshin Women University restaurant, Seoul Bangkok : Small but Bright, Modern, and Surprisingly Comfortable

When I visited, it was fully packed, so photos were almost impossible. But here’s the real vibe:
It’s not huge, but the entire wall is glass, so it feels open, bright, and airy. The layout is simple and smart:
- 4 bar seats wrapping around the open kitchen
- Two 4-person tables
- Two 2-person tables
I booked carefully for a mom-date… but the reservations were already full, so we ended up at the bar.
And honestly, the bar seat is one of the best parts.

The lighting is warm and flattering, the decor is “Thai” without being overwhelming, and everything feels well-edited and tidy—no clutter, no chaos, just a clean modern mood.

Also: my mom is petite and usually hates high bar chairs. But she literally said the chair was comfortable, and the table height felt right.
Plus, sitting at the bar means you get to watch the chefs cook and plate everything right in front of you—like dinner and a mini show.
And yes—Pu Pad Pong Curry seemed like the signature. I watched it get cooked repeatedly, almost like every table ordered it first, then picked other dishes next. Seeing the ingredients go into a hot flame makes you think:
“Okay… this cannot be bad.”

Simple, classic, and completely satisfying.
Food Review at Sungshin Women University restaurant, Seoul Bangkok : Both Pad Thai and Curry Were a Win

First detail that made me smile: the water

They served barley tea in a cute Del Monte bottle with a retro cup—tiny but memorable.
And weirdly… the barley tea tasted so good that I asked what it was.
They said barley tea.
So why does mine at home never taste like this?
Cola service—unexpectedly thoughtful
We ordered just one can, but they served two glasses, with ice and lemon in each.
That kind of extra care always sticks with you.
Because great restaurants don’t only win with taste.
They win with small details that make you feel taken care of.
Pad Thai: clean, balanced, “this is how it should taste”

Everything came out faster than expected—and that’s a good sign for Thai food when it’s made fresh and served hot.
The Pad Thai looked textbook perfect.
I squeezed lime over it first (always), mixed it well, then adjusted with peanuts and red pepper only as needed. The bean sprouts and chives? Non-negotiable for me—those textures make Pad Thai feel alive.
And the taste of Sungshin Women University restaurant, Seoul Bangkok?

Not too sweet, not too salty—just balanced.
Plump shrimp, properly seasoned tofu, noodles that aren’t soggy or heavy.

It was the kind of Pad Thai that makes you think:
“Okay, date night is already successful.”
Pu Pad Pong Curry: the reason you’ll come back

Then came the signature: Pu Pad Pong Curry—the dish every table seemed to have.
A bowl of rice is included by default (thankfully), because you need rice for this.
One spoonful of curry over rice, mix it in, and it becomes instant comfort food.
The curry portion is generous, and the crab is soft enough that even the shell feels surprisingly easy to handle as you eat. But here’s the real warning:
You will run into a rice shortage.
If you don’t want to leave curry behind, order extra rice.
You’ll thank yourself.
What made it especially good was the balance: the curry was rich but not heavy, and the addition of celery was so smart—flavor and texture both feel complete.
This was the kind of Pu Pad Pong Curry where you stop mid-bite and silently agree:
Yes. This is a curry place.

This mom-date was a complete success at Sungshin Women University restaurant, Seoul Bangkok.
We both love Southeast Asian food, but honestly? Sometimes the dishes end up too sweet or too salty, and I usually hesitate to order curry as a main.
But at Seoul Bangkok, we trusted the reviews and ordered the signature… and it was one of those moments where you laugh because it’s too good.
Small but stylish space, friendly chefs, food that’s consistently satisfying, and a bar seat that turns cooking into entertainment—this place checks every box.
Next time, I’m reserving earlier for a window seat, ordering Thai beer, and enjoying the curry like an actual Bangkok night—right here in Seoul.
