It is a hidden gem that specializes in fresh, thick slices of halibut, making it a go-to spot for sashimi lovers. If you’re looking for a refreshing, lighter meal instead of heavy dishes, I highly recommend this place. Known for its incredibly fresh halibut sashimi and generous portions of side dishes (called “skidashi” in Korean), this restaurant is a personal favorite of mine in Sindang Market. The delicious side dishes and perfectly chewy halibut make it a standout spot for seafood lovers.

Overview, Sindang Market Restaurant, Sinto Buri

Located just a 3-minute walk from Exit 2 of Sindang Station, Sinto Buri is tucked away in a small alley off the main street, making it a bit hidden, but definitely worth the visit. Once you find it, it’s easy to become a regular, as this place offers consistently fresh sashimi and satisfying portions.

Sinto Buri Operating Hours:

  • Every day from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM

Despite its modest size, Sinto Buri boasts a large tank filled with live seafood, reassuring guests of the freshness of their food. The clean and well-maintained tanks, filled with lively fish, give you confidence in the quality of the sashimi served here.

Interior Atmosphere of Sindang Market Restaurant, Sinto Buri

Sinto Buri isn’t a large place, so timing is important when visiting. I usually recommend going around 8:00 PM when the first wave of customers has left, as it’s easier to get a table then. The space is cozy and simple, like a small local diner, but it’s the quality of the food that keeps customers coming back.

Menu:

As a live fish restaurant, Sinto Buri’s sashimi is fresh and flavorful. They offer a variety of fish, as well as other seafood and semi-dried fish dishes. While you can order à la carte, I recommend going for one of the set menus, which is ideal for sharing.

  • B Course: 60,000 KRW
  • Soju: 5,000 KRW
  • Terra Beer: 5,000 KRW

We opted for the B course, which is perfect for two people. It starts with a generous portion of fresh halibut sashimi and ends with a delicious spicy fish stew with handmade noodles.

Sindang Market Restaurant, Sinto Buri, Food Review:

Sindang Market Restaurant, Sinto Buri

If you’re the type who values good side dishes with your sashimi, then Sinto Buri is a must-visit. The side dishes are plentiful and diverse, with options like fresh prawns, abalone, sea squirt, live octopus, grilled smelt, and even cheesy corn. Each dish is so delicious that you might find yourself reaching for a drink after each bite!

The prawns are peeled and ready to eat, and their freshness adds a delightful sweetness.

The smelt, one of the best I’ve had, is perfectly grilled with no bitter taste, and the live octopus is incredibly fresh, served with sesame oil and salt for a savory flavor. The sea squirt and sea cucumber offer a taste of the ocean, while the herring, which is in season, was kindly offered to us and paired perfectly with the accompanying fresh vegetables.

The star of the meal, the halibut sashimi, finally made its appearance. The portions are generous—more than enough for two people—and the thick, chewy slices of halibut are incredibly fresh and sweet. You can really taste the quality in each bite.

We finished the meal with a spicy fish stew, loaded with fresh vegetables and chewy noodles. It was so delicious that I forgot to take pictures!
