What We Ordered

Seongsu-dong Restaurant, Ojisang Seongsu

  • Gyu Suji Oden Nabe: 28,000 KRW
  • Okonomiyaki: 20,000 KRW
  • Okinawa Draft Beer: 10,000 KRW
  • Cola: 3,000 KRW

The Okinawa draft beer was served in a visually appealing glass, and its crisp, clean taste was the perfect start to our meal.

Gyu Suji Oden Nabe

The Gyu Suji Oden Nabe was served with a small, portable stove, allowing us to keep the broth warm throughout our meal. This thoughtful detail makes it an excellent dish to enjoy slowly with a drink.

The nabe is packed with an assortment of oden (Japanese fish cakes), and the inclusion of Gyu Suji—a cut from the tendons and surrounding muscles of beef—adds a unique, chewy texture and rich flavor that’s both hearty and satisfying. The broth was unexpectedly rich and slightly spicy, making it an ideal accompaniment for alcohol. Instead of traditional noodles, the dish features konjac noodles, adding a healthier touch.

Okonomiyaki

The Okonomiyaki was another highlight. Unlike some versions that can suffer from a floury taste or eggy smell, this dish was perfectly balanced, with the ingredients cooked just right. The Okonomiyaki was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with a savory flavor that kept us coming back for more.
