[Seoul / Sangwangsimni Cafe] A Dessert Paradise for Nutella S’mores and Crème Brûlée Lovers – A Perfect Solo Workspace at Sangwangsimni Cafe, Cafe Green

Sangwangsimni Cafe, Cafe Green is a delightful cafe located in the heart of Sangwangsimni, Seoul, known for its delicious desserts like Nutella s’mores and crème brûlée. Perfect for a solo work session or a relaxing break, this cozy spot also offers a serene atmosphere with plenty of greenery and ample natural light. Whether you’re in the mood for a sweet treat or need a quiet place to unwind, Cafe Green is an excellent choice.

On a leisurely weekend morning, I discovered Cafe Green, a neighborhood cafe that’s perfect for bringing your laptop and getting some work done.

Overview, Sangwangsimni Cafe, Cafe Green

It’s located in the commercial complex of a residential building, and they even offer 2 hours of free parking! Just a 7-minute walk from Sangwangsimni Station Exit 1, or a 7-minute walk from the trendy Hipdang-dong area near Sindang Station, it’s in a prime location.

The cafe is known for its resident schnauzer, who unfortunately wasn’t around during my visit, but it was still a pleasant experience.

Cafe Green Operating Hours:

  • Open daily from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM

I’ve passed by this cafe many times while visiting the same building for other places like Misoya and Subway, but I could never get in because it always seemed packed. Finally, I made it in, and I was pleasantly surprised by the spacious and green-themed interior.

Interior Space of Sangwangsimni Cafe, Cafe Green

As you enter, you’re greeted by high ceilings and a full wall of windows, creating an open and airy atmosphere. The cafe is surrounded by green plants, which makes it feel like a little forest retreat in the middle of the city. The tables are arranged thoughtfully to avoid overcrowding, making it a comfortable place to relax or work.

I arrived right when the cafe opened, which was the perfect time to grab a seat. As the day went on, it filled up with regulars, some coming with laptops to work, others from the nearby church, and couples enjoying a lazy weekend together. One wall is covered with notes and memories left by previous visitors, and as the weather gets colder, they thoughtfully provide knee blankets for guests. The open kitchen and counter area are also styled with wood, aligning perfectly with the cafe’s “green” theme.

Menu:

Cafe Green offers a wide variety of drinks, including standard coffee options, teas, and sodas. For those like me who aren’t big on coffee, there are plenty of other choices. The dessert menu is also unique, featuring items you won’t easily find elsewhere.

I had a hard time choosing between Misugaru (Korean roasted grain powder drink) and Lemon Hibiscus, but eventually went with the latter for a refreshing, tart flavor. For dessert, I couldn’t resist ordering the Nutella s’mores and my all-time favorite, crème brûlée.

Sangwangsimni Cafe, Cafe Green, Food Review:

Nutella S’mores:

Sangwangsimni Cafe, Cafe Green

Known as a Nutella s’mores hotspot, I couldn’t skip the signature dish at Cafe Green.

Even though I usually avoid marshmallows (because they say it’s hard to burn off the calories, even after running around the earth twice!), I made an exception for this dish. The golden-brown top promised a delicious treat, and it did not disappoint. Underneath the marshmallow was a generous layer of Nutella, making it a heavenly combination with the whole wheat biscuit.

If you’re feeling stressed and crave something sweet, Nutella s’mores at Cafe Green are the perfect cure. It’s a taste that instantly lifts your spirits!

Lemon Hibiscus Tea:

For a refreshing break, the Lemon Hibiscus tea was a good choice, although it was a bit stronger and sweeter than what I’m used to. It was still delicious, likely because Cafe Green uses a homemade concentrate rather than tea bags.

Crème Brûlée:

The highlight of my visit to Cafe Green was the crème brûlée. It reminded me of a food truck in New York where I used to get my favorite crème brûlée. After a few disappointing experiences in Korea, I was thrilled to find a place that gets it just right. The caramelized top was perfectly crackly, and the creamy inside was absolutely divine. It brought back memories of New York and made me want to return to Cafe Green just for this dessert.

After indulging in these sweet treats, I decided that next time, I’ll pair them with an iced Americano to balance out the sweetness. I was so absorbed in my work that I didn’t notice the time passing. As I quickly packed up to head to my next appointment, I felt that Cafe Green would definitely become a regular spot for me.
