[Seoul / Seoul Forest wine bar] The perfect date spot near Seoul Forest, offering great ambiance – Seongsu’s nearby wine bar, Boire.

Seoul Forest wine bar Boire is the perfect spot for a romantic date or special occasion near Seongsu. If you’re looking for a cozy place to enjoy some intimate time with someone special after a day of exploring the hip Seongsu area or strolling through Seoul Forest, this is the ideal choice. Whether it’s for an anniversary or a memorable date, I highly recommend this charming wine bar for a relaxing evening.

As a food blogger, I recently visited a cozy wine bar near Seoul Forest, perfect for a romantic date or special occasion: “Seoul Forest Wine Bar – Boire.”

This place has been on my radar for a while, especially as it’s run by both a chef and sommelier duo, making it an emerging gem among Seoul Forest hotspots.

It seemed like the perfect venue for our two-year anniversary, so we made plans to meet up there after finishing our respective schedules.

Overview, Seoul Forest wine bar, Boire

Boire is located right between Seongsu and Seoul Forest, making it a convenient choice whether you’re arriving by bus or metro. From Seoul Forest Station (Exit 2), it’s about a 6-minute walk, or about 8 minutes from Ttukseom Station (Exit 5). If you’re driving, the closest public parking is at Seongsu 1ga 1-dong Parking Lot.

Operating hours for this Seoul Forest wine bar are from 5 PM to midnight, with the last order at 10 PM.

The bar itself is on the second floor of a quaint standalone house, with the ground floor occupied by other popular Seongsu restaurants like Mangchi Burger and Gyeweol Sikdang. It’s an ideal spot for a second round after dinner, but with food this delicious, I recommend starting your evening here and savoring the full experience.

I’d describe Boire as the kind of place where you want to try every dish on the menu.

The ambiance is cozy and intimate, perfect for focused conversations or celebrating special moments. The interior is bright and welcoming, with fresh flowers adding a cheerful touch throughout the space.

The size of the venue makes it easy to enjoy private conversations without distractions.

With seating options that range from a small bar to various table setups (including a semi-private 6-person table), the space feels versatile enough for everything from quiet dates to group gatherings. However, because it’s a small venue that aims to provide top-notch service, they only accept up to three reservations per half-hour, so it’s best to book in advance through Catch Table, Naver Reservations, or Instagram DM.

Menu

The menu is extensive, with a selection of Italian-inspired dishes crafted by the owner-chef, perfectly paired with over 80 wines curated by the owner-sommelier. Whether you’re looking for a full meal or just some snacks to complement your wine, Boire has it all. The wine list is updated regularly, and it includes whites, reds, rosés, and sparkling options, with a mix of familiar and unique labels. If you’re unsure about what to order, the sommelier is always on hand to provide personalized recommendations.

For our meal, we ordered:

  • Spicy Tomato Sauce with Grilled Eggplant: ₩19,000
  • Scallop & Ratatouille with Shrimp: ₩28,000
  • Spinach Cream Pasta: ₩18,000
  • Two glasses of house white wine: ₩13,000 for each

Dining Experience at Seoul Forest wine bar, Boire

The dishes were all beautifully presented, and the flavors were exceptional.

The grilled eggplant was perfectly cooked—soft yet moist, with the texture still intact. Topped with shrimp, bacon, cheese, and a spicy tomato sauce, each ingredient’s flavor was distinct yet harmoniously balanced, making it an irresistible dish.

We also tried the scallops & ratatouille shrimp, which was a popular recommendation. The butter-grilled scallops and shrimp were savory and well-seasoned, complemented by a peach-based sauce underneath. The shrimp and scallops had a plump, juicy texture, though the dish was slightly salty for my taste and might pair better with beer than wine.

I debated between the basil pesto pasta and the spinach cream pasta, opting for the latter as the basil pesto was a cold dish. The spinach cream pasta balanced out the salty seafood dishes with its subtle sweetness, creating a perfect harmony of flavors. It was delicious and served in just the right portion. You can also request jalapeños on the side if you prefer.

With the owner-chef preparing each dish, every item we ordered was exceptional, making our 2nd anniversary dinner truly memorable.

It’s a place I can’t wait to revisit, whether for a quiet dinner or a group gathering with friends. For anyone seeking a hidden gem in Seoul Forest, Boire is a must-visit wine bar that promises a memorable experience.
