[Seoul / Cheongnyangni Hotspot] Hidden Gem with Stunning Views, Perfect for Year-End Parties – Cheongnyangni Wine Bar “Like Wine”

Cheongnyangni Hotspot? Any recommendaion?

A place you have to know to find. Once you do, you’ll feel like you’ve discovered a hidden gem in Seoul. Recently, I visited a wine bar near the University of Seoul with my parents, and it was just that—a hidden treasure.

Overview, Cheongnyangni Hotspot, ”Like Wine”

The place is called “Like Wine” and offers incredible views of the city with wines at unbeatable prices, making it a must-experience casual vibe.

If you’re using public transportation, it’s about a 10-minute walk from Cheongnyangni Station, or a bit longer if it’s your first time. But for convenience, I recommend getting off at the Seoul Seongsim Hospital bus stop, which is closer.

Cheongnyangni Hotspot “Like Wine” Opening Hours:

  • Monday to Saturday: 18:00 – 24:00 (last order at 23:30)
  • Closed on Sundays

I drove there and found a parking spot nearby at Jeonnong Public Parking (2,000 KRW per hour). Walking through the alleys of Jeonnong-dong, you’ll find a somewhat nondescript building that doesn’t hint at the gem it holds inside. The exterior might not seem like much, but once you take the somewhat shaky elevator to the 6th floor, you’re greeted by a completely different world.

I arrived right at opening time, giving me the perfect opportunity to explore and take pictures before the crowd started to arrive. Soon after, tables began filling up with guests, eager to enjoy the views and the cozy atmosphere.

In one corner, there was a chair with a teddy bear sitting on it, perfect for a quick photo op. I’m not sure if it’s actually for use, but there was also a piano nearby.

In front of that, a beautifully lit carpet stood out, with the evening lighting enhancing its charm. The thoughtful lighting setup throughout the space added to the atmosphere, making every element stand out.

Each table had a simple yet enchanting light that could resemble either a rose or a sunflower, adding a whimsical touch to the overall vibe.

This lighting also played the role of a “Tinkerbell lamp” when it came to taking food photos, creating a magical ambiance. Interestingly, there was a fluorescent marker next to the lamp, allowing guests to doodle on wine bottles or glasses for a fun, interactive experience, making it an extra fun spot to visit with friends.

Menu

The menu is conveniently available via a kiosk at each table. Whether you’re looking for a full meal or some light snacks to pair with your wine, “Like Wine” has got you covered. Have you ever seen such affordable wine in Seoul? It’s a perfect place for a casual gathering or even a full-blown year-end party.

Food at Cheongnyangni Hotspot, ”Like Wine”

We started with complimentary snacks—crispy, well-stored breadsticks that were surprisingly tasty. For drinks, the red wine was 24,000 KRW per bottle or 3,500 KRW per glass, while the white wine was 49,000 KRW per bottle or 7,000 KRW per glass. A quick “cheers” with our drinks, and we were ready to dive into the meal.

Though the wine selection leans toward fruitier, sweeter options, it’s still an excellent choice for casual drinking. Personally, I prefer wines with more oak notes, but for the price, these wines were a great deal.

As for the food, it exceeded my expectations. For such affordable prices, the dishes were well-prepared, with beautiful plating that made them look perfect for Instagram.

The mozzarella salad came first, and it was a generous serving of fresh mozzarella that paired wonderfully with the crisp veggies.

The spicy shrimp tomato pasta was flavorful, with plump shrimp and a sauce that had just the right kick of spice to balance the richness of the other dishes. The potato gnocchi was creamy and satisfying, with large portions that left us feeling full and happy.

The gnocchi, generously coated in cream, was the kind of dish that made you want to keep eating while silently chanting, “this won’t make me gain weight.” Each piece was large and filling, delivering both in terms of taste and portion size, making it a satisfying dish to enjoy and look at.

Lastly, the arugula pizza was a highlight. The arugula was fresh and piled high, and the crust was thin and crisp—perfect for rolling up and enjoying by hand.

Overall, the meal was a delightful experience, with every dish delivering on both taste and presentation.
