Apgujeong Rodeo Hot Spot, Kuhichi Apgujeong, is the perfect spot for gatherings or company dinners, offering a cozy atmosphere with a strong Japanese vibe. Having already established itself as a hot spot in Yongsan, Kuhichi has now made its way to Apgujeong Rodeo, adding a more sophisticated and stylish touch to its ambiance. Located near Dosan Park, Kuhichi Apgujeong stands out with its traditional Japanese architecture, making it a place that catches your eye from afar, like a scene from a movie.

“Kuhichi, the popular hot spot in Yongsan, has arrived in Apgujeong Rodeo!

Kuhichi, which gained massive recognition as a top restaurant in Yongsan, has now opened its doors near Dosan Park in Apgujeong, adding a layer of sophistication and elegance to its already popular Japanese-inspired decor. With its traditional Japanese architectural style, Kuhichi stands out even from afar.

Passing by, I couldn’t help but wonder, ‘What’s that place?’—and indeed, it was Kuhi-chi Apgujeong!

Kuhichi Apgujeong Operating Hours: Every day: 18:00 – 08:00

Kuhichi feels almost like a setting from Spirited Away, where the world of gods opens at night and disappears like a mirage in the morning. Even the operating hours seem to echo this mysterious vibe, giving the place a dreamlike atmosphere.

The building is designed with an elegant Japanese garden at the front, surrounded by a double-layered wall that enhances its luxurious appeal. Walking through the heavy wooden door into Kuhi-chi gives you a feeling of entering another world.

The establishment spans three floors and a rooftop. The second floor is slightly darker and almost fully occupied, so I decided to head up to the third floor to find a spot.

Even the stairwell is filled with intricate window designs that make the space playful and interesting.

On the first floor, there’s a counter for drinks and a kitchen hidden from view. I was led to the second floor, which even features an outdoor terrace area.

Upon reaching the third floor, I found a large hall with two private rooms and soft ambient lighting. We chose a cozy table by the window, which offered a semi-private space with plenty of room—a perfect setting for gatherings or romantic dates. It’s also an ideal place to host a formal dinner for important clients or colleagues.

The bamboo shadows cast on the walls from outside gave the space a serene, Zen-like feel. This place was definitely a great choice for the evening, and the bamboo in the background gave the entire experience a touch of elegance.

Despite being such a large and grand venue, it’s a popular spot that’s fully booked on weekdays and weekends. So, if you’re planning a year-end gathering or hoping to reserve a specific seat, it’s highly recommended to make a reservation by phone or through Catch Table in advance.

Menu

After seating, we were served crispy purple sweet potato chips as a complimentary snack, and the table was set.

Orders are placed through the kiosk at each table, making it a very convenient system.

Kuhichi has an extensive menu, which made it hard to decide what to order. From hearty meal options, sashimi, tataki, tempura, and seasonal dishes like soups and hotpots, to stir-fries and more, the menu is packed with substantial dishes perfect for filling up while enjoying a few drinks. It’s an ideal spot for both group dinners and for anyone looking to enjoy a proper meal with their drinks.

Kuhichi’s popular dishes include the Flower Nabemono hotpot, Kuhi-chi Don, and Futomaki (thick sushi rolls). Based on the recommendations, I decided to go with the Futomaki and my father’s choice, the spicy seafood stir-fry. For drinks, we opted for two highballs.

What We Ordered:

  • Stir-fried Spicy Seafood with Whole Squid: 26,000 KRW
  • Futomaki: 28,000 KRW (price varies)
  • Jim Beam Highball: 8,000 KRW
  • Peach Tree Highball: 8,000 KRW

Note that the price of the Futomaki changes depending on the type of fish used on that day.

Our highballs were quickly served with the crispy sweet potato chips, which were much thicker and crunchier than most, making them a great snack to nibble on.

Although I expected the Futomaki to come out first, the spicy stir-fried seafood arrived earlier. The first impression? Absolutely stunning. The visual appeal of the dish was perfect for someone like me, who had been craving spicy, bold flavors.

The portion size was generous, similar to a large Jjajangmyeon platter, packed with seafood including squid, crabs, mussels, and shrimp. Using the scissors provided, I cut the whole squid into bite-sized pieces and enjoyed the rich flavors. The dish was perfectly spiced, and while I know it will probably leave me feeling a bit puffy the next day, it was absolutely worth it.

Shortly after, the Futomaki arrived. The main ingredients of the Futomaki today were salmon and flounder. Although it’s usually challenging to eat a roll this size in one bite, the Futomaki here was packed with fresh ingredients and thickly sliced fish, making each piece substantial. After taking a few photos, I dipped the roll in the light mayo sauce and enjoyed the perfect balance of flavors. The hearty Futomaki paired beautifully with the spicy stir-fried seafood.

While three pieces were enough to make me feel full, the delicious egg inside the Futomaki had me craving more. Known for its precise technique in preparing egg dishes, this place lived up to its reputation. The thick, sweet egg paired with the fresh salmon created a delightful bite.

The egg was perfectly cooked, thick, and sweet, which is a testament to the quality of the place, as it’s known that mastering egg dishes is crucial in Japanese cuisine. The fresh, plump salmon in the Futomaki was so good that I couldn’t stop admiring how fresh it tasted.

After thoroughly enjoying the generous portions of the spicy stir-fried seafood and Futomaki, we found ourselves surrounded by more and more people as the place filled up. The atmosphere was lively, and Kuhichi really lived up to its reputation as one of the hottest spots in Apgujeong Rodeo for drinks and food.
