Seongsu Perfume Workshop: Create Your Signature Scent at Classe in Seoul

Seongsu Perfume Workshop: Design your own signature fragrance at Classe Seongsu in Seoul. A unique 60-minute perfume-making class perfect for dates and creative experiences.

There are certain things you think you already know about yourself.

For me, that was fragrance.

I always thought I had a “signature scent”— something I naturally gravitate toward no matter what.

But as the weather started to change, I noticed something different.

As spring slowly came in, I found myself wanting something lighter, fresher, and more airy. That’s when I decided to try something new. Instead of buying another perfume, I went to create one myself at Seongsu Perfume Workshop Classe.

A Different Kind of Experience in Seongsu, at Seongsu Perfume Workshop Classe Seongsu

Seongsu is already known for cafés and creative spaces, but if you’re looking for something more personal, something you can actually make and take with you, this experience feels completely different.

At Classe Seongsu Perfume Workshop, you don’t just pick a scent. You create one from scratch. And that process alone makes the experience worth it.

First Impression of Seongsu Perfume Workshop Classe Seongsu : Clean, Professional, and Thoughtful

Seongsu Perfume Workshop

The space itself is not overly large, but it feels well-organized and intentional.

There are about four work tables, facing different directions, creating a semi-private setup.

The class size is small—around 8 people max—which makes the experience feel much more personal and focused.

What Makes Seongsu Perfume Workshop Classe Seongsu Different

One thing that stood out immediately: This isn’t just a casual DIY space.

Classe Seongsu Perfume Workshop is run by a certified perfumer from one of Korea’s leading fragrance associations (FRAKO).

That alone adds a level of trust and professionalism.

High-Quality Ingredients

Another key difference: Seongsu Perfume Workshop Classe Seongsu uses European MAX-grade fragrance materials.

Also, instead of smelling raw concentrated oils—which can be overwhelming— they prepare diluted samples for a more comfortable experience.

This makes a big difference, especially if it’s your first time.

The Process: Creating Your Signature Scent

The class takes about 60 minutes, but it feels much more immersive than that.

Step 1: Understanding Fragrance Basics

The session starts with a simple explanation of:

  • Top notes
  • Middle notes
  • Base notes

You also get a brief introduction to around 60 different fragrance ingredients.

At this stage, you start thinking: “What kind of scent do I actually want?”

Step 2: Exploring Scents

Next comes the most fun part.

You go through the available scents and start testing them one by one. If your sense of smell gets tired, there are coffee beans on the table to reset it.

(If you’ve ever done fragrance testing, you’ll know how important this is.)

Step 3: Selecting Your Notes

You can choose up to 8 scents, but I ended up selecting:

  • Lilac
  • Sandalwood

  • Green Jasmine
  • Amber
  • Saffron

Interestingly, even though I usually prefer woody scents, this time I naturally leaned toward something fresher.

Probably the weather.

Step 4: Building the Formula

This is where things get real.

Using a dropper, you start mixing your selected scents based on a suggested ratio. You test it. Adjust it. Add or remove ingredients. I repeated this process four times until I found the exact balance I liked.

My Final Pick: Green Jasmine

In the end, I removed saffron and focused on a lighter, cleaner blend.

The result?

A fresh, slightly floral scent centered around green jasmine—perfect for warmer days.

It felt completely different from my usual preferences, which made it even more interesting.

Final Production

Once your formula is finalized, you choose between:

  • Eau de Toilette (lighter)
  • Eau de Parfum (stronger, extra cost)

I chose Eau de Toilette, since most of my perfumes fall into that category.

Then comes the final step: Using a scale, you carefully measure each ingredient with the actual concentrated oils this time.

Once everything is mixed, the instructor adds ethanol to complete the perfume.

Packaging & Final Touch

The final product is beautifully packaged with:

  • a label sticker
  • a pouch
  • and a shopping bag

It honestly feels like something you’d buy from a boutique store.

After the Experience

The perfume needs about 7–10 days to mature, so you don’t use it immediately.

But that waiting time actually makes it more exciting.

Final Thoughts about Seongsu Perfume Workshop Classe Seongsu

What I loved most about this experience wasn’t just the perfume.

It was the process. Understanding how scents work, realizing how your preferences change with seasons, and creating something that’s completely your own— that’s something you can’t get from buying a bottle off the shelf.

Who Should Try This?

If you’re:

  • planning a unique Seongsu date
  • looking for a creative experience in Seoul
  • or simply curious about fragrance

then Seongsu Perfume Workshop Classe is absolutely worth trying.

It’s short, immersive, and surprisingly personal.

And in the end, you walk away with something that’s truly yours.
