Won Gi Ok: A Seongsu Naknak Restaurant Perfect for Seasonal Health Food & Korean Comfort Meals

A Popular Seongsu Naknak Restaurant for Restoring Energy
When the weather suddenly shifts between cold and warm seasons, it becomes the perfect time to look for nourishing Korean food. One restaurant that stands out for exactly that reason is Won Gi Ok, a well-known Seongsu Naknak restaurant specializing in premium health-focused Korean dishes made with beef tendon and octopus.
Even the name “Won Gi Ok” carries the meaning of restoring energy and vitality. The restaurant was clearly designed for people exhausted from busy city life who want a warm, comforting, and nutritious meal.
After several unexpectedly cold spring days, the weather suddenly became hot, and both of us were completely drained. That was the perfect excuse for a Seongsu date followed by a hearty meal at Seongsu Naknak Restaurant Won Gi Ok.
It only takes one visit to understand why the restaurant has been featured on multiple Korean television programs, including 2TV Live Info, Live Today, Live Tonight, and even The Manager. From the generous ingredients to the carefully prepared flavors, every dish feels intentionally crafted as a nourishing meal.

Interior & Dining Atmosphere of Seongsu Naknak Restaurant Won Gi Ok
The first impression of Seongsu Naknak Restaurant Won Gi Ok feels refined, modern, and surprisingly luxurious for a Korean comfort food restaurant.
The tall ceilings and full glass windows create a bright and open atmosphere, while the massive open kitchen immediately catches attention. It almost resembles the kitchen of a five-star hotel buffet rather than a traditional Korean restaurant.
The cleanliness of the kitchen alone builds confidence, and seeing multiple chefs actively preparing dishes makes the entire experience feel even more professional.

All tables are arranged for four people, and despite arriving exactly at 5 PM when dinner service began, several tables were already occupied. Larger group tables were also being prepared for business gatherings and dinner meetings.

One playful detail stood out immediately for anyone familiar with Korean pop culture: a large circular mirror paired with a small Son Goku figure underneath, subtly referencing the “Dragon Ball” energy-restoring concept connected to the restaurant name. It added a surprisingly charming touch to the otherwise elegant interior.

Because we made a reservation in advance, we were guided to a comfortable window-side table that had already been fully prepared.

For private gatherings, the restaurant also offers separate rooms:
- 4-person room: minimum order 200,000 KRW
- 6-person room: minimum order 250,000 KRW
- 8-person room: minimum order 300,000 KRW
This setup makes Won Gi Ok especially popular for family dinners, company gatherings, and entertaining guests.
Menu of Seongsu Naknak Restaurant Won Gi Ok
The menu at Seongsu Naknak Restaurant Won Gi Ok focuses heavily on Korean health foods traditionally associated with restoring stamina and energy.
Orders are placed through a tablet at each table, making it easy to browse the extensive menu comfortably.
Seongsu Naknak Restaurant Won Gi Ok offers everything from nourishing hot pot courses to lighter lunch meals and elegant dinner dishes. Depending on the occasion, the experience can feel either casual or highly refined.
Since the weather already felt warm that day, we skipped the bubbling hot pot and instead ordered:
- Spicy Stir-Fried Octopus with Beef Tendon
- Neungi Mushroom Beef Tendon Suyuk
Rice is not automatically included with the main dishes, so additional rice should be ordered separately if you plan on having a full meal.
The drink menu is also surprisingly extensive, including traditional Korean liquor, highballs, wine, whiskey, beer, and soju. Interestingly, corkage is completely free for wine, whiskey, and traditional liquor, which makes the restaurant even more attractive for gatherings and celebrations.
Food Experience of Seongsu Naknak Restaurant Won Gi Ok
The dishes arrived almost simultaneously, beautifully plated and clearly made with premium ingredients.

Before the meal officially began, we were served a soft poached egg as a small appetizer. The egg itself tasted incredibly rich and fresh without any unpleasant smell, showing how much attention is paid even to small details.

Then came the side dishes, including what became my favorite kimchi of the year.

The fresh napa cabbage kimchi had the perfect balance of crunch and spice, but the real surprise was the white radish kimchi. Instead of tasting mild like traditional dongchimi, it had a refreshing spicy kick from Cheongyang chili peppers while still keeping the radish crisp and refreshing. It paired so perfectly with the meal that we asked for four refills.

The spicy octopus stir-fry immediately explained its price point. The portion was enormous, easily too much for two people, and the octopus itself was shockingly large and thick.
The staff kindly cut the octopus into bite-sized pieces before leaving us to mix the noodles into the rich red sauce ourselves.

The flavors were deeply savory with noticeable wok hei smokiness, and despite being spicy, the heat never became overwhelming. Even people who are sensitive to spice would probably still enjoy it because the flavor remains balanced and addictive.
The beef tendon added another layer of texture—chewy, rich, and deeply satisfying after absorbing the spicy sauce.
Eventually, we mixed the remaining rice directly into the sauce because it was impossible to waste such flavorful seasoning.

The second dish, the Neungi Mushroom Beef Tendon Suyuk, was equally impressive. Made with premium Korean beef tendon, the dish delivered a rich, gelatinous texture balanced by the earthy aroma of neungi mushrooms.

The portion was far larger than expected, and the homemade sauce elevated the flavors even further without overpowering the natural richness of the beef tendon itself.
