A Hidden Seongsu Italian Restaurant Worth Reserving: Corner Room

One thing many trending restaurants have in common lately is this:
they are intentionally hard to find. Almost as if they’re saying, “Only those who really want to be here will make the effort.”
Seongsu Italian restaurant, Corner Room is exactly that kind of place.
I first came across it while casually scrolling through Instagram—what stopped me instantly was a photo of an exceptionally marbled steak. It was clear this restaurant took steak seriously. I saved it without hesitation, and on a weekend that felt just right, I made a reservation in advance.
Seongsu Italian restaurant, Corner Room is already well-known among wine lovers and has even been featured on Pudingo. With its high ratings across multiple reservation platforms, it felt like a place you visit with confidence. Since weekdays are nearly impossible to book, I secured a Sunday evening reservation and planned a full Seongsu date around it.
Walking in without a reservation on a weekend is simply not an option.
Families, couples, and groups of friends fill the space quickly, making reservations absolutely essential for this Seongsu Italian restaurant.

Address
2F, 64 Sangwon-gil, Seongdong-gu, Seoul
From Ttukseom Station (Exit 3 or 4), it’s about a 3-minute walk toward the Ssangyong Apartments.
From Seoul Forest Station (Exit 1), it takes around 10 minutes on foot.
Finding it at night can be confusing, even if you know Seongsu well. Although it’s often described as being in the same building as the pink bakery “Bon Noel,” the bakery isn’t visible after hours.
The easiest way is to look for Clean Topia (laundry shop) on the first floor. A small silver sign indicates Corner Room, and the restaurant is located on the second floor—opposite a fitness gym.
Parking is technically available, but weekend spots are scarce, so nearby public parking is recommended.

Interior & Atmosphere of Seongsu Italian restaurant, Corner Room
Like many places around Ttukseom, the exterior gives nothing away. From the outside, you would never guess a restaurant is hidden upstairs. Even on the second floor, you first see a gym—only a small window with the Corner Room logo confirms you’re in the right place.
Once inside, everything changes.
The sound of cooking, quiet conversations, and soft background music immediately set the tone. The open kitchen reflects a modern neo-bistro concept, where chefs move in sync like musicians in an ensemble. Watching them cook feels almost like a performance.

Lighting is warm and understated, making the space comfortable for couples, groups of four, or even up to six people. The mood is calm, intimate, and ideal for conversation. For larger gatherings, the restaurant can also be reserved entirely for groups of around twenty.

Most tables automatically order steak, and it’s easy to see why—the table is already set with steak knives before the food arrives.

What We Ordered & Why It Works at Seongsu Italian restaurant, Corner Room
From the kitchen, we watched our dishes come together.

Although gnocchi is one of their signatures, I opted for something different: squid oil pasta with a subtle spicy kick, paired with their highly praised premium Wagyu steak.

The pasta was visually striking. Instead of relying solely on garlic oil, the dish had a gently spicy base that added depth without heaviness. Sweet napa cabbage brought balance, while almond-like crumbles added texture. The squid ink pasta enhanced both flavor and appearance.
Even for those who usually avoid oily pasta or squid ink dishes, this one is hard not to love. It’s refined, bold, and deeply satisfying.

The Wagyu steak arrived seared almost tataki-style—crispy on the outside, incredibly juicy inside. A squeeze of lemon heightened the flavor, and each bite confirmed the quality of the beef.

The steak was served with salsa verde, made with parsley, and it quickly became the star. Bright, herbaceous, and perfectly balanced, it paired beautifully with the meat. It was so good that I genuinely asked if it was available for purchase separately.
An arancini made with sweet pumpkin and cheese rounded out the meal. Crispy on the outside and rich inside, it was flavorful enough to enjoy without additional sauce.
