Itaewon Pasta Restaurant: Nongdam’s Addictive Spicy Cream Pasta with Steak

If someone asked me to recommend an Itaewon pasta restaurant with beautiful food, satisfying portions, and prices that don’t feel excessive, Itaewon Nongdam (이태원농담) would be one of the first places to come to mind.
Nongdam has been a familiar name in the neighborhood for years, and it’s easy to understand why.
Itaewon Pasta Restaurant Nongdam serves visually impressive pasta, pizza, and other Western-style dishes in a cozy space that works equally well for a date or a casual meal with friends.
But there’s one dish that makes me want to return: the spicy cream pasta topped with striploin steak.
The sauce is rich and creamy, yet the heat is surprisingly bold. It’s the kind of pasta that makes you reach for another bite even when your mouth is still tingling from the last one.
On this visit, I came with a friend for a leisurely weekday lunch, complete with a glass of wine, salad pizza, and sizzling gambas.
And once again, the food was every bit as appealing as it looked.

Inside Itaewon Pasta Restaurant Nongdam: Three Floors, Three Different Moods

Although Itaewon Pasta Restaurant Nongdam uses three floors, each individual dining area is relatively small.
Most of the seating is arranged around two-person tables, making the restaurant particularly well suited to couples and small groups.
What I like is that each floor has a slightly different atmosphere.
Second Floor: Natural Light and an Open Kitchen
The second floor has around four tables, with much of the remaining space dedicated to the kitchen.
It’s a good choice if you prefer a brighter dining area with natural light.
I also like the sense of being close to the kitchen, where the food is prepared.
Third Floor: A Cozy, Darker Interior

The third floor has slightly more seating and a darker interior, with black accents and indirect lighting.
If you’re planning a date and prefer a moodier atmosphere, this floor is worth considering.
The lighting gives the space a warm, intimate feel without making it seem overly formal.
Fourth Floor: An Airier, Rooftop-Like Space

The top floor has both indoor and outdoor seating, with a higher ceiling that makes the space feel more open.
It’s particularly appealing when the weather is pleasant and you want to enjoy a glass of wine in a more relaxed setting.
Between the three floors, there’s a nice range of seating atmospheres, even though the restaurant itself isn’t enormous.
Do You Need a Reservation at Itaewon Pasta Restaurant Nongdam?
I’d recommend booking ahead if you have a specific dining time in mind.
Itaewon Pasta Restaurant Nongdam is popular, and the relatively small dining areas mean a wait can form even though the restaurant occupies several floors.
At the time of my visit, reservations were available through Naver and Catchtable. I made mine through Naver.
If you’re hoping to walk in, arriving around opening time or later in the evening may give you a better chance of finding a table, although seating is never guaranteed.
For a date or a planned gathering, I’d make a reservation rather than leave it to chance.
Itaewon Pasta Restaurant Nongdam Menu: Pasta, Pizza, Risotto and Wine

Ordering is easy thanks to the tablet provided at each table.

The menu includes several visually striking pasta dishes, along with risotto, pizza, salads, and other sides.
There’s also a drinks selection designed to pair with the food.
You can choose from highballs, wine, and other alcoholic drinks, making Nongdam a good option for a relaxed lunch with a glass of wine or an evening meal.
On this visit, my friend and I wanted a classic combination: pasta, a few dishes to share, and wine.
We ordered the spicy cream pasta with striploin steak, salad pizza, and gambas.
It turned out to be a very satisfying spread.
A Table Full of Beautifully Presented Food
One thing Itaewon Pasta Restaurant Nongdam does particularly well is presentation.
Our wine arrived in a generous serving, followed by the dishes arranged together on the table.
Everything looked so good that I immediately understood why the restaurant’s food appears so often in Instagram photos.
But the best part was that the flavors lived up to the presentation.
We started with a little toast over our wine before turning our attention to the dish I’d been looking forward to most.
Spicy Cream Pasta with Striploin Steak: Nongdam’s Signature Dish

If you’re visiting Itaewon Pasta Restaurant Nongdam for the first time, the spicy cream pasta with striploin steak is my top recommendation.
It’s one of Itaewon Pasta Restaurant Nongdamt’s most recognizable dishes, and for good reason.
The pasta arrives with a beautifully arranged contrast of red pepper and parsley, topped with pieces of striploin steak.

The presentation is striking before you’ve even taken a bite.
Once you’ve admired it—and perhaps taken a photo—mix everything together so the noodles are thoroughly coated in the sauce.
Then prepare yourself for the heat.
Rich Cream Sauce with a Surprisingly Bold Kick
At first glance, it looks like a familiar cream pasta.
But the first bite is much spicier than you might expect.
The sauce is thick, rich, and creamy, yet there’s a bold heat that builds as you eat.
It’s not the gentle warmth of a lightly seasoned cream sauce.
The spiciness is a major part of the dish’s character, and it’s exactly what makes the pasta so addictive to me.
Even when my mouth was tingling, I kept going back for another forkful.
The cream gives the sauce enough richness to balance the heat, while the pepper keeps it from feeling too heavy.
If you enjoy spicy food and creamy pasta, this is a particularly satisfying combination.
Tender Striploin Steak
The steak is more than a decorative topping.
The striploin was wonderfully tender on my visit, and it worked beautifully with the creamy sauce and pasta.
I liked alternating between bites of steak and noodles, then combining the two for an especially rich mouthful.
The steak adds a savory depth that makes the dish feel substantial enough to be the centerpiece of the meal.
One small ordering tip: pickles weren’t automatically served during my visit, so ask the staff if you’d like some alongside your pasta.
Salad Pizza: Arugula, Cherry Tomatoes and Generous Cream Cheese

We debated whether to order a salad or a pizza.
In the end, we chose the salad pizza—and it was a very good decision.
The size was just right for two people sharing it alongside pasta and another dish.
It had a thin, oven-baked-style crust topped generously with fresh arugula, cherry tomatoes, and large scoops of cream cheese.

The cream cheese was particularly memorable.
There was enough of it to enjoy a little with almost every bite, and its smooth richness worked well with the fresh vegetables.
You can eat the pizza slice by slice, but I particularly enjoyed rolling it up and dipping it into the accompanying sauce.
The combination of crisp crust, peppery arugula, juicy tomatoes, and creamy cheese made it a lovely contrast to the spicy pasta.
If you’re sharing several dishes, I’d definitely consider adding this one.
Gambas: Sizzling Shrimp, Garlic and Toasted Baguette

The gambas arrived still bubbling in its hot oil.
And I really do mean hot.
Be careful with both the dish and the shrimp when it first reaches your table.
The baguette was nicely toasted and perfect for soaking up the flavorful oil.
My favorite way to eat it was to place a shrimp and some roasted garlic onto a piece of bread, then spoon a little of the oil over the top.
It’s a simple combination, but a delicious one.
Just give it a moment to cool before taking a big bite.
Between the spicy pasta, fresh salad pizza, and sizzling gambas, we had a great mix of flavors and textures on the table.
Is Itaewon Pasta Restaurant Nongdam Good for a Date?

I think it’s a lovely choice for a casual date, especially if you enjoy sharing several dishes.
The interiors are stylish without feeling overly formal, and the different floors let you choose between a brighter space and a more intimate atmosphere.
The food is also ideal for sharing.
A pasta dish, salad pizza, and a glass of wine make a satisfying combination without requiring a complicated order.
And if you’re visiting during pleasant weather, the top-floor seating is another appealing option.
Because the restaurant is popular and the tables are mostly designed for smaller groups, I’d reserve ahead for an evening date.
What Should First-Time Visitors Order atItaewon Pasta Restaurant Nongdam?
For a first visit, I’d build the meal around the spicy cream pasta.
My preferred combination for two people would be spicy cream pasta with striploin steak and salad pizza.
The pasta brings the rich, spicy flavors, while the pizza adds fresh vegetables, cream cheese, and a lighter contrast.
If you’re especially hungry or want a longer meal with wine, add the gambas.
The toasted baguette is perfect for enjoying the garlic-infused oil, and the shrimp adds another satisfying dish to share.
One thing to keep in mind: the signature pasta has a noticeable kick, so if you’re sensitive to spicy food, consider choosing a milder pasta from the menu instead.
Is Itaewon Pasta Restaurant Nongdam Worth Visiting?
Nongdam is one of the places I’d recommend when someone asks me for an Itaewon pasta restaurant with food that looks beautiful and tastes just as good.
The restaurant has a relaxed, date-friendly atmosphere, a menu with plenty of dishes to share, and a convenient location near Noksapyeong Station.
But the dish that really sets it apart for me is the spicy cream pasta with striploin steak.
The rich sauce, bold heat, and tender steak make a combination I find difficult to stop eating, even when I’m already getting full.
Add a salad pizza, gambas, and a glass of wine, and you’ve got a lovely meal for a leisurely afternoon or evening in Itaewon.
If you enjoy creamy pasta with a serious spicy kick, I’d put Nongdam on your Seoul restaurant list.
