Itaewon New York Pizza Ginos NY Pizza – A Slice of Real New York in Seoul

Itaewon New York Pizza

During my five years living in New York, pizza was easily one of the meals I ate most often.

In a country where you can spend anywhere from one dollar to one hundred dollars on a single meal, pizza remains one of the most accessible, casual, and satisfying choices.

New York is filled with pizza shops, each showing off its own style—from toppings to sauce—but for me, pizza dough is just as important as the toppings. A pizza that satisfies both is rare, and that’s exactly why

Itaewon New York Pizza Ginos NY Pizza stands out.

If there’s one place in Seoul where I genuinely finish every bite of the crust, it’s Itaewon New York Pizza Ginos NY Pizza

The texture, chewiness, and balance of the dough feel unmistakably New York—simple, honest, and deeply satisfying.

Well known for staying true to authentic NYC pizza, Gino’s has even been featured on major Korean food programs, earning praise for how closely it recreates the real thing.

While I usually visit the Apgujeong location, this time I had plans in Itaewon with my mother and finally visited the Itaewon flagship. The result? Complete satisfaction—from taste to comfort, even for someone whose stomach usually feels heavy after pizza.

Interior & View of Itaewon New York Pizza Ginos NY Pizza

Itaewon New York Pizza

The moment you step inside, two things immediately stand out:

  1. A wide, open view of Itaewon and Noksapyeong Road
  2. An open kitchen where you can watch pizzas being made in real time

The space isn’t large, but it’s thoughtfully laid out. Most tables are two-seaters by the windows or walls, with a few four-person tables deeper inside.

The most popular seats—especially for dates—are the window-side tables. In warmer months, the folding doors open completely, creating a breezy, panoramic atmosphere that pairs perfectly with pizza and beer.

Because seating is limited and demand is high, reservations are highly recommended if you want to avoid waiting or want a view seat.

I arrived a bit later than other reservations and ended up at the central bar table. While slightly high for shorter guests, the upside was a front-row seat to the pizza-making process—a surprisingly fun and satisfying experience.

Menu Overview at Itaewon New York Pizza Ginos NY Pizza

If you’ve visited the Apgujeong location, the menu will feel familiar.

  • Appetizers and salads
  • Classic New York–style buffalo wings
  • Korean-friendly wing variations
  • Pasta dishes
  • And, of course, pizzas listed as “pies”, just like in New York

From classic toppings to Gino’s signature combinations, there’s plenty of variety. Pizzas come in two sizes, and half-and-half orders are available, making it easy to try more than one flavor.

Drink options are also impressive:

  • Snapple iced teas (a nostalgic New York favorite)
  • Beer, cocktails, wine, champagne, and spirits

That day, I chose a Snapple for myself while my mother enjoyed a dark beer.
For food, we ordered the Brooklyn Pie and honey barbecue–style buffalo wings.

Because each pizza is made fresh to order—from stretching the dough to baking—it takes a little time. But watching the process makes the wait feel like part of the experience.

The buffalo wings arrived first. The honey barbecue flavor was sweet, savory, and lightly spicy—clearly designed to appeal to a wide range of tastes.

The celery on the side added a refreshing crunch, and ranch dressing (available upon request) paired perfectly with both the wings and the pizza crust.

Then came the pizza.

The cheese stretched beautifully, and the crust was thin, light, and airy with small bubbles throughout—exactly what you’d expect from a true New York–style slice. Not overloaded with toppings, but perfectly balanced with mozzarella, basil aroma, and generous Italian sausage.

The dough alone was delicious, but dipping it into ranch took it to another level. A sprinkle of red pepper flakes added just enough heat for extra depth.
