My Journal about Winters Village

Winters Village

Last winter, while scrolling through Instagram Reels, I stumbled upon a video of Winters Village and instantly fell in love. Finally, I got the chance to visit this much-anticipated spot.

Based on other reviews, I decided to avoid peak hours and visit during a less crowded time, but there was still a waiting line! Winters Village isn’t your typical dog cafe; it has a structured system.

Winters Village

Upon arrival, the queue outside was shorter than expected. While waiting, I learned that the dogs come out to relieve themselves periodically. Fortunately, I didn’t have to wait long before being ushered into a waiting room. The staff explained the waiting time could range from 10 to 30 minutes, providing instructions in Korean, English, and Japanese.

The atmosphere was like entering a large dog house. Summer heat and outdoor waiting lines previously caused complaints, leading to the current indoor waiting system. Inside, there were plastic chairs and standing areas for waiting visitors. After a short wait, it was our turn, and we were led inside with instructions to ensure doors were always securely closed behind us.

We queued up for the admission fee of 14,000 KRW per person, excluding drinks. After paying, we received a rubber wristband. The final briefing included instructions not to feed small treats to the tiny Pomeranian among the Samoyeds, avoid touching the dogs’ faces, and each guest was given exactly five pieces of dog treats.

Then, it was free time! We could roam and explore both the first and second floors. The first impression was that all the dogs looked quite similar, making it hard to tell them apart initially. The Samoyeds seemed uninterested at first, with a weary look on their faces.

But then, a senior staff member came in with a bucket of ice, causing a delightful commotion among the dogs. They were completely focused on the ice, a sight to behold. The staff distributed ice selectively to smaller or less dominant dogs.

For those who enjoy observing rather than interacting, Winters Village is perfect. It’s an excellent spot for taking memorable photos. The dogs’ personalities varied—some were obedient, some indifferent, and others mischievous.

After spending time on the first floor, we decided to check out the second floor. Before heading up, we grabbed drinks from the self-service station. While not gourmet, the drinks were refreshing enough. Interestingly, the sound of the ice machine attracted a few dogs. Offering them a piece of ice quickly turned them into loyal companions.

The second floor had a more mature vibe, with dogs seemingly more experienced and photogenic. It’s a great spot for capturing those Instagram-worthy moments.
