Geumho Donkatsu Restaurant, Discover Old-School Korean Pork Cutlets at Dddon Geumho

For anyone who grew up loving classic Korean-style pork cutlets served with creamy soup, bread or rice, and a rich brown sauce, I have great news.
Recently, I found one of the most satisfying Geumho Donkatsu restaurants in Seoul: Dddon Geumho.
The moment I took my first bite, I was instantly transported back to childhood. It reminded me of the old-fashioned Korean pork cutlet restaurants many Koreans grew up visiting with their families.
Geumho Donkatsu Dddon is already famous for its crispy-outside, juicy-inside pork cutlets made with premium Korean pork loin and its signature sauces. The brand even gained attention after being featured by popular Korean YouTuber Tzuyang.
Now that Geumho Donkatsu Dddon has opened in Geumho, local residents finally have a place to enjoy authentic old-school Korean donkatsu without traveling far.
If you love nostalgic Korean comfort food or have children who enjoy pork cutlets, this is the kind of restaurant that easily becomes a regular favorite.
Location of Geumho Donkatsu Dddon
1F, 14-1 Haengdang-ro 1-gil, Seongdong-gu, Seoul, South Korea
Geumho Donkatsu Dddon is about a seven-minute walk from Exit 3 of Singeumho Station.
Locals may find it even easier to locate by heading toward Nongol Intersection and walking toward Geumbuk Elementary School. The restaurant sits directly in front of the school entrance.
If you are driving, a paid parking lot is located one block uphill near a CU convenience store. Parking Fee: approximately ₩4,000 per hour.
Geumho Donkatsu Dddon itself is already well-known through delivery apps such as Baemin and Coupang Eats, but I personally prefer trying pork cutlets in person before making any judgment. Since it was close to home, I decided to visit directly.
Business Hours of Geumho Donkatsu Dddon
Tuesday – Sunday 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM / Break Time
3:00 PM – 4:30 PM (Last Order 8:30 PM) / Closed Every Monday
Fortunately, I visited around 2:30 PM and was able to walk in without waiting.
Interior of Geumho Donkatsu Dddon

Although Geumho Donkatsu Dddon is already popular as a delivery restaurant, the dining area itself is surprisingly modern and clean.

Geumho Donkatsu Dddon offers a variety of seating arrangements, including both two-person and four-person tables. The interior is divided into two sections, making it suitable for both casual meals and small group gatherings.
Interestingly, while the dining room felt relatively calm during my visit, the kitchen was incredibly busy. Delivery drivers came and went constantly throughout my meal.
Around the time nearby elementary school students were heading home, the volume of delivery orders noticeably increased. Watching this happen made me realize just how universally loved old-school Korean pork cutlets are among both adults and children.
The family-friendly atmosphere becomes even more obvious when you notice the details.
High chairs are available for young children, and the restaurant also provides:
- Children’s forks and spoons
- Kids’ plates
- Family-friendly seating
Clearly, Geumho Donkatsu Dddon understands its customer base very well.

Another feature I appreciated was the self-service station.
Guests can freely help themselves to:

- Cream soup
- Udon broth with fried tofu
- Kimchi
- Pickles
- Yellow radish pickles
- Aprons
Before even ordering, I already felt nostalgic seeing the cream soup waiting at the self-bar.
Menu of Geumho Donkatsu Dddon
One thing I liked immediately was how clearly Geumho Donkatsu Dddon communicates its concept.
The restaurant focuses entirely on classic Korean-style pork cutlets while offering enough customization to make the experience feel modern.
Ordering is done through tablets located at each table.
The menu includes:
- Traditional old-school pork cutlets
- Various toppings and sauces
- Rice dishes
- Pasta dishes
- Special menu selections
- Drinks and alcoholic beverages
What really stood out was the ability to customize your meal in detail.
Guests can choose:
- Rice or bread
- Regular or spicy sauce
- Sauce poured over the cutlet or served separately
These small choices make it easy to build exactly the meal you want. Geumho Donkatsu Dddon also runs a receipt review event where customers can receive a free soda or cheese balls after posting a review.
Food Review of Geumho Donkatsu Dddon
The food arrived looking far more generous than I expected.

Considering current food prices in Seoul, the portions and quality felt like exceptional value.
Even small details were impressive. Soft drinks were served with ice in insulated stainless-steel cups featuring the Geumho Donkatsu Dddon logo rather than simply handing customers a can.

Before touching the pork cutlet, I started with the cream soup from the self-service station.

One spoonful instantly brought back childhood memories.
Rich, creamy, comforting, and familiar, it tasted exactly like the soup that accompanied old-fashioned Korean pork cutlet meals decades ago.
Then came the main event.
Geumho Donkatsu Dddon uses premium fresh pork loin from Jeju Island and their own specially developed wet breadcrumbs.
The result is exactly what Korean diners describe as “crispy outside, juicy inside.”
The pork cutlet was noticeably thicker than what many competitors serve, and every bite delivered excellent texture.
I chose the spicy sauce version and requested the sauce poured directly over the cutlet.
While I personally wished the spice level had been stronger, the flavor of Geumho Donkatsu Dddon‘s signature sauce was so satisfying that I ended up finishing the entire plate.

The accompanying salad was another pleasant surprise.
Instead of a basic side salad, it included:
- Fresh greens
- Cherry tomatoes
- Cranberries
- Mixed nuts
The freshness balanced the richness of the fried pork beautifully.
One particularly fun recommendation posted on the table suggested making a “Don Burger.”
By combining:
- Bread
- Pork cutlet
- Salad
- Pickles
you can create your own pork cutlet sandwich.
After trying it myself, I completely understood the recommendation. Two of these mini sandwiches alone felt incredibly filling.
Final Thoughts about Geumho Donkatsu Dddon
For me, Geumho Donkatsu Dddon successfully captures everything people love about traditional Korean-style pork cutlets while presenting it in a cleaner, more modern way.
For years, I often visited famous old-school pork cutlet restaurants hoping to relive childhood memories. Many of them no longer tasted the way I remembered.
Geumho Donkatsu Dddon was different.
The crispy texture, thick pork loin, nostalgic cream soup, generous portions, and family-friendly atmosphere all combined to create exactly the kind of experience I had been looking for.
Whether you dine in or order delivery, this is the kind of restaurant that quickly turns into a neighborhood favorite.
If you’re searching for authentic Geumho Donkatsu in Seoul and want to experience classic Korean pork cutlets done right, Geumho Donkatsu Dddon is absolutely worth visiting.
