Gangnam Samgyeopsal Restaurant Recommendation, Dongducheon caldron lid Samgyeopsall Near Gangnam Station

Gangnam Samgyeopsal

If someone asks me where to enjoy authentic Gangnam Samgyeopsal at an affordable price, one of the first places that comes to mind is definitely Dongducheon caldron lid Samgyeopsal Gangnam Station Branch.

Finding a Korean BBQ restaurant in Gangnam that serves thick-cut pork belly and pork neck in generous portions at a reasonable price is surprisingly difficult these days. That is exactly why this place has become one of my regular go-to spots for group dinners, casual dates, and after-work gatherings.

The moment thick slabs of pork belly hit the giant iron pot lid grill, the sizzling sound alone is enough to make anyone hungry. The meat stays juicy inside while developing that crispy golden texture on the outside that Korean BBQ lovers crave.

What makes Gangnam Samgyeopsal Dongducheon caldron lid Samgyeopsal even more memorable is the unbelievably affordable flower crab soybean paste stew. For only ₩3,000, you get a rich and spicy Korean doenjang jjigae packed with deep seafood flavor. Honestly, it is one of the best side dishes to order with samgyeopsal in Gangnam.

Recently, my boyfriend and I suddenly craved grilled pork belly and cold beer after work, so we headed straight back to this favorite Gangnam BBQ spot.

The accessibility is excellent. From Exit 11 of Gangnam Station, it only takes about two minutes on foot.

Walk straight for around 100 meters after leaving Exit 11, then turn into the alley near the New Balance store. You will immediately spot the large second-floor sign for Dongducheon Sot뚜껑 Samgyeopsal.

One thing that impressed me again during this visit was that the famous “600g for ₩30,000” price still has not changed despite rising food prices in Seoul. Even the storefront proudly advertises the price, which honestly feels almost impossible to find in Gangnam nowadays.

Business Hours of Gangnam Samgyeopsal Dongducheon caldron lid Samgyeopsal

Daily 11:45 AM – 12:00 AM (Last Order: 11:30 PM)

Unlike many Korean BBQ restaurants around Gangnam Station that only open for dinner, this place starts serving from lunchtime. That means you can even enjoy samgyeopsal with daytime drinks if you want.

However, evenings become incredibly crowded. By around 6:30 PM, the restaurant usually turns into a full house with waiting lines forming quickly. If you want to avoid waiting, arriving before 5:30 PM is highly recommended.

Gangnam Samgyeopsal Dongducheon caldron lid Samgyeopsal does not accept reservations. Waiting is handled the classic Korean way — simply write your name on the waiting list near the entrance and return when your turn approaches.

Gangnam Samgyeopsal

Gangnam Samgyeopsal Dongducheon caldron lid Samgyeopsal mainly consists of four-person tables, with several larger tables available for groups of around six people.

Since the restaurant fills up quickly every evening, every table is already pre-set before customers arrive. Kimchi and bean sprouts are placed directly on the giant pot lid grill from the beginning, along with a piece of pork fat used to grease the surface before grilling.

Because we had failed to get seats here before during peak hours, my boyfriend and I purposely arrived at 5:30 PM sharp this time. Thankfully, we got seated immediately. Even then, nearly one-third of the restaurant was already occupied by customers clearly experienced in the timing strategy.

One of the best things about this place is the self-serve station. Side dishes like seasoned green onions, onions in soy sauce, lettuce wraps, sauces, kimchi, and bean sprouts can all be refilled freely. Since everything is self-service, you can enjoy as much as you want without feeling pressured to ask staff repeatedly.

The grilled kimchi and bean sprouts are especially addictive. Most regular customers refill them at least once during the meal.

The menu is simple and easy to understand, with the signature set clearly displayed on every table.

The highlight is obviously the 600g pork set for ₩30,000. Unlike many Gangnam samgyeopsal restaurants that require ordering only one type of meat, this place allows half-and-half combinations. That flexibility is one reason why I keep returning.

Even with side dishes included, two people can eat extremely well here for around ₩50,000 total, making it one of the best value Korean BBQ restaurants near Gangnam Station.

This time, we ordered a half pork belly and half pork neck combination, along with the famous flower crab soybean stew and spicy bibim naengmyeon. Of course, cold beer was mandatory.

Food Review of Gangnam Samgyeopsal Dongducheon caldron lid Samgyeopsal

The moment the 600g meat platter arrived at our table, the visual impact alone was incredible.

The thick-cut pork belly looked luxurious with its beautiful layers of pink meat and white fat. The quality was obvious immediately. Gangnam Samgyeopsal Dongducheon caldron lid Samgyeopsal uses carefully selected Grade 1 Korean pork and ages the meat at low temperatures to maximize both juiciness and flavor.

The custom-made pot lid grill is another important detail. It prevents excessive sticking while helping create that perfect crispy exterior and juicy interior texture.

We also added minari (Korean water parsley) for an extra ₩3,000, which pairs amazingly well with grilled pork.

The staff initially checked the grill heat and placed the meat on the pan for us, but after that, we grilled everything ourselves.

Since thick pork belly tastes best when flipped as little as possible, we patiently waited while the meat slowly cooked.

During that time, I grabbed extra lettuce wraps from the self-serve bar while my boyfriend carefully monitored the grill.

Of course, we could not forget freshly cracked black pepper over the meat either.

Once the pork lost its raw pink color, we sliced it into smaller pieces and continued grilling all sides evenly until beautifully golden and crisp.

While waiting, I started eating rice with the famous flower crab soybean stew, which honestly felt impossible to believe was only ₩3,000. The broth was spicy, savory, rich, and deeply comforting.

My boyfriend takes pork grilling very seriously, so he cooked everything slightly crispier than other tables. The result was absolutely perfect.

The grilled kimchi became even more delicious alongside the pork belly and pork neck. We immediately refilled more kimchi and kept grilling throughout the meal.

Wrapped in lettuce with spicy green chili peppers, the pork became even better. If you love spicy food, definitely try eating the pork together with Korean cheongyang peppers.

To finish the meal properly, we ordered bibim naengmyeon. In Seoul these days, cold noodles often cost around ₩9,000, but here they are still only ₩7,000 — and the portion size honestly feels about one and a half times larger than usual.

The flavor reminded me of the nostalgic spicy cold noodles from old Korean snack bars growing up. Pairing the cold noodles with leftover pork created the perfect ending to the meal.

Final Thoughts about Gangnam Samgyeopsal Dongducheon caldron lid Samgyeopsal

Gangnam Samgyeopsal Dongducheon caldron lid Samgyeopsal Gangnam Station Branch is easily one of the best-value Korean BBQ restaurants for company dinners, group gatherings, and casual meals near Gangnam Station.

Yes, you need to grab many side dishes yourself, but that self-service system is exactly what allows the restaurant to maintain such amazing prices while still serving high-quality meat.

Most importantly, the thick-cut samgyeopsal grilled on the giant iron pot lid develops an incredibly satisfying texture that is hard to forget once you try it. The crispy outside, juicy interior, smoky aroma, and rich pork flavor make this a place you naturally want to revisit again and again.

That is probably why so many customers become regulars here.

If you are searching for authentic Gangnam Samgyeopsal with generous portions, great prices, and satisfying Korean BBQ flavors, this is absolutely one of the places worth visiting in Seoul.
