As someone who truly loves bread, discovering a bakery like this is always exciting. From the crumb structure to the crisp texture of each pastry, the quality here immediately proves why this place is considered one of the best Gangnam brunch cafes.

So far, I have tried seven different breads here, and every single one was delicious. But my absolute favorite is the Arugula Prosciutto Mini Pain au. One bite into its shatteringly crisp crust and you immediately understand why it is so addictive. Inside, fresh tomato, savory prosciutto, and peppery arugula create a perfect balance of flavors. It is the kind of bread you could easily eat ten of in one sitting.

That said, every bread here is impressive, so honestly you can simply choose the ingredients you like most and you will probably be satisfied.

Location and Accessibility

Gangnam Brunch Cafe Bakerst Brown is located at:

21 Gangnam-daero 102-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul

It sits about a 4-minute walk from Sinnonhyeon Station Exit 6, slightly uphill. The cafe occupies the entire building from basement level to the 3rd floor, making it one of the larger cafes in the Gangnam area.

The exterior alone already stands out. A beautiful red brick building with evergreen trees in front gives the cafe a slightly European atmosphere that feels charming in every season.

Outdoor Terrace of Gangnam Brunch Cafe Bakerst Brown

The building also features a cozy outdoor terrace seating area that feels perfect for reading a book while enjoying an espresso on a sunny day.

Unfortunately, the weather during my visit was still quite cold even though it was technically spring, so sitting outside was not ideal. But on warmer days, this is easily one of the most popular spots in the cafe.

The moment you enter Gangnam Brunch Cafe Bakerst Brown, the first thing you notice is the incredible smell of freshly baked bread filling the space. For anyone who loves bakeries, this alone is enough to fall in love with the cafe instantly.

Because I arrived close to opening time, the bakery kitchen was already busy preparing bread for the day, which made the entire space smell even more amazing.

One important tip: if you want to see the full selection of bread, visiting slightly later is better.

  • Around 12:30 PM most breads are fully stocked
  • By 1:00 PM, the display is usually completely filled

Since I visited earlier in the day, not every bread was available yet. But luckily, the Arugula Prosciutto Mini Pain au I came for was already on the shelf, so I immediately grabbed a plate and tongs.

How Ordering Works at Gangnam Brunch Cafe Bakerst Brown

The process is simple:

  1. Find a seat first if the cafe is busy
  2. Grab a plate and tongs
  3. Choose the breads you want from the display
  4. Order drinks at the counter and receive a pager
  5. Pick up your drinks when the pager rings and enjoy your meal

Since I arrived right after opening, there were plenty of seats available. But while I was choosing bread, more fresh pastries kept coming out of the kitchen, which made it impossible to stop at just one.

In the end, I decided to enjoy bread in two rounds that day.

The Bread Selection of Gangnam Brunch Cafe Bakerst Brown

Gangnam Brunch Cafe

When the bakery shelves are fully stocked, the variety is impressive.

You will find:

  • colorful madeleines
  • fresh strawberry pies
  • multiple flavors of kouign-amann
  • various mini pain au breads
  • croffins and other pastries

Gangnam Brunch Cafe Bakerst Brown is especially known for its kouign-amann, and there are several flavors available including strawberry, chestnut, and pepperoni versions.

But on this visit, I had only one goal: the Arugula Prosciutto Mini Pain au.

Since it is one of the most popular items, it tends to sell out quickly even in the morning.

Next to the bread display, a showcase also features beautiful desserts such as:

  • fruit pies
  • puddings
  • specialty pastries

Despite the high quality, the prices are surprisingly reasonable, which makes it even easier to recommend.

Cafe Interior by Floor of Gangnam Brunch Cafe Bakerst Brown

Another reason I love Gangnam Brunch Cafe Bakerst Brown is the beautiful natural light and relaxed atmosphere throughout the building.

Each floor has a slightly different vibe.

Basement

My personal favorite space.

At first, going downstairs with a plate of bread might feel a bit unusual, but once you arrive, the space feels cozy, quiet, and surprisingly bright rather than basement-like.

Second Floor

Gangnam Brunch Cafe

This floor has a clean white interior with large windows, allowing natural sunlight to fill the room.

There are various seating options including:

  • 2-person tables
  • 4-person tables
  • sofa seating

Third Floor

The third floor has a slightly vintage European feel with wooden floors and rattan furniture.

There is also a large table that makes this floor perfect for group gatherings or casual study sessions.

Overall, Bakerst Brown functions as a large Gangnam cafe suitable for many types of visits, from casual coffee breaks to brunch meetups.

Menu of Gangnam Brunch Cafe Bakerst Brown

While bread is the main attraction, the drink menu is also extensive.

You can choose from:

  • coffee
  • latte drinks
  • milk tea
  • tea

There are also brunch dishes available if you want a fuller meal. Popular options include soup with croissants and toast dishes.

But on this visit, my friend and I focused entirely on bread and drinks.

What We Ordered at Gangnam Brunch Cafe Bakerst Brown

Gangnam Brunch Cafe

When the pager rang, we returned to the counter to collect our drinks and bread.

Our first round included:

  • Arugula Prosciutto Mini Pain au
  • Strawberry Kouign-amann

For drinks we tried:

  • Sweet Potato Cream Latte
  • Non-Alcoholic Mojito

Gangnam Brunch Cafe

Sweet Potato Cream Latte

This drink almost felt like enjoying sweet potato cake with a latte.

The creamy topping had a sweet, nutty sweet-potato flavor, and the castella cake crumbs on top added a soft texture. Thankfully it was not overly sweet, making it a great pairing with bread.

Gangnam Brunch Cafe

Mojito

The mojito looked beautiful but tasted a bit mild. Personally, I think the lemon ade might have been a better choice for a stronger refreshing flavor.

Gangnam Brunch Cafe

Strawberry Kouign-amann

This pastry was absolutely stunning.

The strawberries were incredibly sweet, almost as if only the highest-brix strawberries had been chosen. Combined with fresh whipped cream and a crispy pastry layer dusted with powdered sugar, it was both visually beautiful and delicious.

It is the kind of dessert that instantly lifts your mood.

Gangnam Brunch Cafe

Arugula Prosciutto Mini Pain au (My Favorite)

Now for my ultimate favorite item.

The Arugula Prosciutto Mini Pain au might look simple, but the flavor combination is incredible.

Inside the crisp bread you get:

  • juicy tomato
  • fresh arugula
  • savory prosciutto

The prosciutto is perfectly seasoned without any unpleasant saltiness, and when combined with the slightly sweet bread and fresh greens, the balance becomes addictive.

It is a small bread, but it delivers a full and satisfying flavor.

Second Round of Bread

Gangnam Brunch Cafe

By around 12:30 PM, the bakery shelves were almost fully stocked, so we went back upstairs to pick two more items.

This time we chose:

  • Crème Brûlée Salt Bread
  • Dirty Chocolate Mini Pain au

The Dirty Chocolate bread was exactly what you would expect: rich chocolate flavor and soft bread covered in cocoa powder. Perfect with coffee.

The Crème Brûlée Salt Bread, however, was interesting. It had a strong sweetness similar to a candied coating. While the salty-sweet combination was addictive, the sweetness was stronger than expected. Personally, I still prefer the classic salt bread here.
