What Makes Gangnam Bakery, Cafe Pan Musee Special
Gangnam Bakery, Cafe Pan Musee differentiates itself in two major ways:
- Premium Coffee Program
Their beans are sourced and roasted by award-winning Korean roasters from 180 Coffee Roasters, including two national roasting champions. From green bean sourcing to roasting, the process is carefully managed, resulting in a distinctive and rich coffee profile rarely found elsewhere. - High-End Butter & Natural Fermentation
They use premium Lescure butter and avoid preservatives or fermentation accelerators. Instead, their dough is naturally fermented using their own developed yeast culture. This results in bread that feels cleaner, richer, and easier to digest.
Before even tasting anything, you already know the quality focus is serious.
Interior & Atmosphere of Gangnam Bakery, Cafe Pan Musee
The interior layout is thoughtfully designed.

There are:
- Window seats ideal for people-watching
- Tables for two or four
- Partitioned semi-private booths for solo work
- Large communal tables suitable for meetings
At the back, you can see the spacious bakery production area. The scale reinforces that this is not just a cafe — it is a full bakery operation.
There is also a self-return system for trays after dining.
I chose a private partitioned seat to enjoy bread quietly while working. Perfect for solo visitors who want both privacy and comfort.
The Bread Selection – A True “Bread Museum”

The first thing that catches your eye is the colorful chocolate display. On my visit, it was Valentine’s Day, and the chocolate line was long. Their signature chocolates use premium Valrhona chocolate from France blended with house-made fresh cream.

Then comes the main bread display — and it truly feels endless.
You’ll find:
- Traditional Korean bakery classics
- Trendy cro-nuts and layered desserts
- Generously sized salt breads
- Fruit-loaded tarts
- Thick, ingredient-packed sandwiches
- Gift-friendly cookies
The variety spans generations of Korean bakery culture.

If you feel overwhelmed, ask the staff. They enthusiastically recommended the sausage bread, explaining that even the sausage itself is high-quality and carefully selected.

That recommendation turned out to be the best decision of the day.
Drinks
After selecting bread, you move to beverages. The menu is displayed clearly at the counter.
Despite usually limiting myself to one coffee per day, I ordered coffee because Pan Musee is known for its blends — particularly their dark chocolate-toned blend.
Gift cards are also available, making it a thoughtful option for bread lovers.
The Taste Test at Gangnam Bakery, Cafe Pan Musee

Visually, everything looked perfect.
Strawberry Mont Blanc

Fresh strawberries with high sweetness (Brix level), whipped cream, and powdered sugar — the balance was bright and refreshing. The strawberries were perfectly ripe, giving both sweetness and texture. Paired with coffee, it worked beautifully.
Blueberry Tart

This one leaned on the sweeter side. The chocolate layer inside made it rich and indulgent. Ideal for those who love bold dessert sweetness.
Truffle Salt Bread

The aroma alone was impressive. Compared to typical salt breads, this one had thicker layers and a denser structure. After lightly warming it, the truffle aroma intensified. Luxurious and deeply savory.
My One Pick: The Sausage Bread

I don’t usually choose sausage bread. It’s not normally my preference.

But this one changed my perspective.
The sausage was genuinely high quality — juicy, flavorful, and well-balanced with the bread. The ketchup flavor was subtle and refined rather than overpowering. The dough itself wasn’t greasy, allowing the sausage and bread to complement each other perfectly.
Even when I was already full, I kept cutting small pieces and finishing it.
That rarely happens.
