As someone who has always loved salads since my time in the U.S. during my 20s, whether for school or work, I’ve stuck to the salad life ever since. Even during my corporate career, salads were my go-to. Many wonder, “How can salad be filling?” but it turns out that greens keep you full for a surprisingly long time.

These days, there are a lot of salad brands to choose from, but Salady stands out for one reason – their “Warm Bowls.” They include hearty ingredients like glutinous rice, barley, and oats, so you can confidently say, “Yes, salads can be filling.” That’s why I find myself ordering from them often, without hesitation.

Whenever there’s a Salady nearby, I make it a point to visit.

Most recently, I was near City Hall for work and went straight to the Salady Seoul City Hall Branch after I finished.

It’s just a 1-minute walk from exit 7 of City Hall Station. If you’re driving, you can park at Lotte Department Store’s parking lot and walk underground for about 5 minutes. Plus, if you install the Lotte Department Store app, you can get two 2-hour free parking coupons per month.

Although this is a City Hall salad hot spot, Salady primarily operates as a takeout brand, so the dining space isn’t huge. However, it’s perfect for solo dining, with about seven 2-person tables, making it just the right size to accommodate a reasonable number of people.

Since I visited on a Saturday around lunchtime, I thought it would be quiet, as most office workers would be off-duty. But to my surprise, the place was packed with foreigners, and the kitchen was buzzing with Coupang Eats and Baedal Minjok orders. I could barely keep track of how often the delivery drivers came in and out, which showed me just how beloved Salady is. Clearly, I’m not the only one who appreciates a meal that’s both delicious and filling!

The restaurant was impressively clean and organized. Even though they were extremely busy, the staff managed to keep everything tidy, including the tray return area. They worked quickly and efficiently, which made the experience even more enjoyable.

And the view? One side of the restaurant has a full window overlooking Plaza Hotel, making it a lovely spot during any season.

When I get hooked on a dish, I tend to stick with it. I didn’t realize Salady had so many options! Besides their well-known salads, they also offer wraps, burgers, warm sandwiches, and more. There are plenty of options for customizing your meal, with a wide variety of toppings to choose from.

I usually order coffee or tea, but they also offer cold-pressed juices, blended juices, protein-packed drinks, and even detox kombucha. I love their soups as well, and they’re very reasonably priced.

My Order:

  • Chili Bacon Warm Bowl: 7,900 KRW
  • Egg Bacon Burger: 6,900 KRW
  • Mushroom Cream Soup: 2,900 KRW
  • Corn Cheese Soup: 2,900 KRW
  • Americano (Hot): 2,400 KRW
  • Tox Kombucha Lemon: 2,400 KRW

First-time visitors should know that all salads can be swapped for a “Warm Bowl” with a base of glutinous rice, barley, and oats. This makes it a more filling meal!

Salady also offers a variety of sauces, and they kindly provide descriptions of each, so you can pick one that complements your toppings.

Despite being busy, my order came out quickly—a crucial factor for lunchtime spots.

The soups were fantastic, made from scratch with fresh ingredients. The Mushroom Cream Soup is always a favorite of mine, and today I tried the Corn Cheese Soup for the first time. It was a bit salty, but I loved the texture of the corn.

And finally, my beloved Chili Bacon Warm Bowl! This was the dish that got me hooked on Salady, and it’s been my go-to ever since. Once you try it, it’s impossible to resist ordering it again. I’ve always had it delivered in a paper box, but at the restaurant, it came in a much more generous portion, filled to the brim with fresh ingredients.

The Warm Bowl is a hearty mix of greens, grains, bacon, eggs, and corn, all topped with a delicious creamy chili sauce. It’s simple but satisfying, and the sauce is what really makes the dish. I always make sure to mix everything thoroughly before digging in.

For those who find it difficult to eat large portions of greens, I recommend chopping them up into smaller, bite-sized pieces. While mixing rice and chili sauce may sound unusual to some, the spiciness of the chili sauce makes it a familiar and enjoyable flavor for Korean palates.

As for the Kombucha, I was expecting something a bit more sour, but it was slightly sweet, which wasn’t quite what I was looking for.

Lastly, my dad ordered the Egg Bacon Burger. It’s served cold, but if you prefer it warm, just ask the staff to heat it up in the microwave.

Conclusion

There are plenty of places that sell salads, but no one does “Warm Bowls” like Salady. It’s perfect for anyone looking to:

  • Enjoy a light but filling lunch near City Hall.
  • Keep up with a healthy diet, even during lunch.
  • Take a break from heavy, carb-loaded meals and enjoy something light.

For a light yet satisfying meal that will keep you full, Salady is the place to go! I highly recommend it.
