Cheongdam Halal Food lovers, experience the authentic taste of New York’s iconic Halal Guys right here at Jil Hal Bros Cheongdam. Serving perfectly seasoned chicken or lamb over fragrant basmati rice, fresh veggies, and their signature white and spicy sauces, this spot offers unbeatable flavor and nostalgia in the heart of Cheongdam.

If you’ve ever fallen in love with Halal Guys in New York City, you know it’s not just food—it’s an experience. From the savory aroma of grilled meat to the rich, creamy white sauce poured generously over fluffy basmati rice, it’s a street food legend.
Having spent five years in New York, I can say with confidence that Halal Guys was a regular in my meal rotation—especially before a visit to MoMA. I’d grab a platter to-go and savor every bite while watching the buzz of the city go by. It’s one of those flavors that instantly transports you back to Manhattan.
For years after moving back to Korea, I missed Halal Food’s taste. Many spots tried to replicate it, but something was always missing—until I discovered Jill Hal Bros. Using their own know-how and importing hard-to-find ingredients, they’ve nailed the essence of authentic halal street food at a surprisingly reasonable price.
Among their branches, my personal favorite is the Cheongdam location. Once my go-to when I worked nearby, it’s been a while since my last visit, and I couldn’t wait to see if it still sparked those NYC memories.

Interior & Atmosphere of Cheongdam Halal Food, Jil Hal Bros Cheongdam

The moment I stepped inside, I noticed the subtle upgrades since my last visit. The interior design features bold yellow and red tones, reminiscent of Halal Guys’ branding, with walls adorned with posters and images related to New York and American culture.

The seating is split into two sections: one side with cushioned booth seating and tables, the other with high bar tables—perfect for solo diners in Cheongdam. And yes, water is self-serve, but with a set meal, you might not even need it.

I opted for a solo seat near the door, where a quirky sticker on the chair back caught my eye—a fun little detail that added to the casual, street-food vibe.
Menu & Ordering at Cheongdam Halal Food, Jil Hal Bros Cheongdam
Halal Food Ordering is straightforward at the counter. The star here is the New York-style halal platter—choose between marinated lamb or juicy chicken, paired with fragrant basmati rice, fresh vegetables, and Jill Hal Bros’ signature white and spicy sauces. You can have it platter-style (bowl) or as a wrap sandwich, depending on your mood.
Prices are incredibly reasonable for Cheongdam, starting in the ₩5,000 range for smaller portions, and even the most filling set meals land in the low ₩10,000 range. If you want more, you can size up for a small extra fee.
💡 Pro Tip: Leave a Naver receipt review, and you’ll get a free drink—making it an even better value.
As always, I went for the chicken bowl set as Halal Food, complete with fries and a drink. It’s my favorite way to enjoy halal food—generous, satisfying, and perfect for mixing all the flavors together.

From the first glance, it’s a feast for the senses. The bowl is vibrant—golden rice, tender chicken, fresh tomato, tangy jalapeños—all drizzled with creamy white sauce and a streak of fiery red sauce.

The magic here is in the balance of flavors. The white sauce dominates in the best way possible—rich, tangy, and slightly garlicky—while the spicy sauce cuts through with a satisfying kick. Unlike the New York version, Jill Hal Bros adds plenty of tomato and jalapeño, giving it a fresher, brighter taste that suits the Korean palate.
The basmati rice deserves its own praise. It’s not easy to find in Korea, but here it’s cooked perfectly—light, fluffy, and aromatic. Every bite brought back memories of NYC food carts on a chilly evening.
A small piece of pita bread comes on the side—perfect for scooping up rice and sauce or enjoying as a quick bite with just the white sauce.
The tomatoes add a refreshing crunch, making the dish feel lighter, while the jalapeños bring a subtle heat that builds slowly with each bite. It’s comfort food with a bit of a kick, and I found myself alternating between scooping bites with a fork and wrapping them in pita just for fun.
And of course—the fries. Golden, crispy, and perfectly salted, they’re exactly what you want to finish a hearty meal. In fact, I’m convinced the set menu was designed with Korean customers in mind—because no one here can resist good fries with a savory main.
Final Thoughts
Leaving Jil Hal Bros Cheongdam, I felt that rare, comforting blend of satisfaction and nostalgia. The flavors transported me straight back to my New York days, but with a few clever tweaks that made it even more enjoyable in Seoul.
Whether you’re a halal food first-timer, a solo diner in Cheongdam, or someone craving a hearty, flavorful meal, this is a spot worth visiting. Choose the bowl for a filling, all-in experience, or go for the wrap if you’re keeping it light. Either way, you might just find yourself coming back again and again— Halal Food hooked on that addictive white sauce.
