Apgujeong Jjukkumi Restaurant Jjukkumi Dosa Apgujeong Rodeo: A Must-Visit Seasonal Octopus Restaurant in Seoul

The older I get, the more I find myself chasing seasonal ingredients.
Recently, my group chat was filled with one topic: “Let’s go eat jjukkumi while it’s in season.” Naturally, I started searching for a great restaurant near Seoul that felt trendy, popular, and worth the trip.
Then the algorithm did its thing.
A YouTube video appeared on my feed.

Not only had famous mukbang creator Haetnim visited, but well-known influencers and creators, including Tzuyang, had already featured the restaurant. More recently, it was even selected as a filming location for the popular Korean variety show Hangout With Yoo, where actors Lee Je-hoon and Lee Dong-hwi appeared while promoting Chief Detective 1958.
At that point, curiosity completely took over.
Why were so many celebrities visiting this place? As a couple that loves spicy food, my boyfriend and I immediately decided it was time for a date night at Apgujeong Jjukkumi Restaurant Jjukkumi Dosa.

One of the best things about Apgujeong Jjukkumi Restaurant Jjukkumi Dosa is that it sits right near one of Seoul’s trendiest shopping and dining districts. It’s the perfect place to stop after exploring luxury boutiques, cafés, and the lively streets of Apgujeong.
Because Apgujeong Jjukkumi Restaurant Jjukkumi Dosa frequently appears on TV programs and social media, dinner hours often come with long waiting lines.
To avoid the crowd, we arrived right after the afternoon break at 5 PM and managed to get seated immediately.

Even before entering, the adorable octopus mascot at the entrance doubles as a popular photo spot. During our visit, several foreign tourists who had discovered the restaurant online were already taking pictures with it.
Interior Space of Apgujeong Jjukkumi Restaurant Jjukkumi Dosa

Although Apgujeong Jjukkumi Restaurant Jjukkumi Dosa is located in the basement level, it feels surprisingly spacious and comfortable.
Unlike many Korean stir-fry restaurants, there was no overwhelming smell of oil or seasoning lingering in the air.

The interior follows a clean black-and-white color scheme, creating a modern and stylish atmosphere.
Most tables are arranged as standard four-person tables or circular group tables, making the space suitable for both casual meals and company gatherings.

In fact, the dining room is large enough to accommodate group dinners, which explains why it has become such a popular choice for corporate gatherings in the Apgujeong area.

Large screens inside the restaurant were continuously playing clips from Hangout With Yoo during our visit. Since the episode featuring Apgujeong Jjukkumi Restaurant Jjukkumi Dosa had aired only about a week earlier, excitement among diners was still very noticeable.
Watching the dishes on screen before ordering somehow made us even more excited to eat.
Menu of Apgujeong Jjukkumi Restaurant Jjukkumi Dosa
Ordering is simple thanks to the tablet installed at every table.
You can place orders, adjust options, and even call staff directly through the system, which works especially well when the restaurant is fully packed.
Apgujeong Jjukkumi Restaurant Jjukkumi Dosa originally started in Cheonho-dong, an area famous for its octopus restaurants, and has built a loyal following among jjukkumi lovers.
The menu offers far more variety than I expected.
You can choose from:
- Classic spicy stir-fried jjukkumi
- Jjukkumi with premium Korean beef tripe
- Jjukkumi with pork belly
- Jjugopsae (octopus, tripe, and shrimp)
- Jjuchasae and other specialty combinations
There are also numerous side dishes designed to pair perfectly with the main menu.
The hardest decision for me was choosing between the beef tripe version and the pork belly version.
Eventually, I went with the Minari Pork Belly Jjukkumi. After tasting it, I immediately knew I would have to return and try the other options.
The quality of the seasonal octopus was outstanding, but what impressed me even more was the restaurant’s signature sauce.
Another advantage is the customizable spice level, allowing guests to choose their preferred heat.
Apgujeong Jjukkumi Restaurant Jjukkumi Dosa also offers a variety of alcoholic beverages and soft drinks, making it a popular dinner and drinking destination.
All octopus dishes require a minimum order of two servings.
There was also a roulette review event during our visit, offering prizes ranging from additional shrimp, beef brisket, pork belly, rice cakes, glass noodles, rice balls, and drinks.
Food of Apgujeong Jjukkumi Restaurant Jjukkumi Dosa

Before the food arrived, we were given disposable aprons.

After one bite, it became obvious why.

This is the kind of bright red Korean dish that will absolutely splash if you’re not careful.

Soon after, our two-person serving of spicy octopus and minari pork belly arrived at the table.
The meal began with several complimentary side dishes:
- Bean sprout soup
- Pickled radish wraps
- Sweet mashed potato salad
- Creamy macaroni salad
The macaroni salad was especially memorable, with stretchy melted cheese that balanced the spicy flavors perfectly.
The mashed potato salad was surprisingly sweet and creamy, making it another excellent companion for the spicy octopus.
While we enjoyed the side dishes, the staff handled all of the cooking.

They cooked, flipped, cut, and monitored everything at the table, making the entire experience effortless.
As the octopus cooked, its size became even more impressive.
Seasonal jjukkumi is known for being larger and more flavorful, and this batch looked incredibly fresh.
A cold beer was absolutely necessary while waiting.
The pork belly slowly crisped on the grill while the octopus absorbed the sauce.
Minari was already included, but additional minari and glass noodles were added later, creating even more aroma and texture.
The fragrance from the fresh minari paired beautifully with the smoky sauce.
When everything was finally ready, the staff announced that we could start eating.
The first bite immediately explained the popularity of this restaurant.
The octopus was plump, tender, and pleasantly chewy.
The signature dipping sauce, a slightly sweet mayonnaise-based sauce, paired surprisingly well with the spicy octopus.
Wrapped together with perilla leaves, minari, and pickled radish, every bite felt perfectly balanced.
The spice level itself wasn’t overwhelmingly hot.
Instead, it delivered a sweet, smoky heat with plenty of charcoal flavor, making it approachable even for diners who aren’t extreme spice lovers.

One of the best side dishes was the Cheese Steamed Egg. This wasn’t the fluffy, airy style commonly found elsewhere. Instead, it was incredibly dense, rich, and packed with eggs and melted cheese.

A perfect contrast to the spicy octopus.

Of course, no Korean stir-fried dish is complete without fried rice.
The staff moved the remaining ingredients aside, added rice directly onto the grill, and carefully fried everything together.

They even waited until the rice developed a crispy golden crust before serving it. Topped with a few remaining pieces of octopus, it was the perfect ending to the meal.
Final Thoughts about Apgujeong Jjukkumi Restaurant Jjukkumi Dosa

As we left, I noticed a photo booth near the exit filled with pictures of celebrities, influencers, and returning customers.

We considered taking one ourselves but skipped it once the crowd started building again.
Apgujeong Jjukkumi Restaurant Jjukkumi Dosa’s signature menu is actually the Beef Tripe Jjukkumi, but since we had recently eaten tripe elsewhere, we decided to try the Minari Pork Belly version first.
Now I have a very good reason to return.
The smoky flavor, perfectly cooked octopus, generous portions, and balanced spice level all exceeded expectations.
Most importantly, the octopus itself was incredibly fresh and surprisingly large—almost as substantial as small squid.
If you’re visiting Seoul during jjukkumi season and want to experience one of the city’s most famous spicy octopus restaurants, Apgujeong Jjukkumi Restaurant Jjukkumi Dosa absolutely deserves a spot on your list.
For spicy food lovers, Korean food enthusiasts, and anyone exploring Apgujeong’s dining scene, this is one restaurant you’ll probably find yourself returning to.
