Every detail in the decor has been thoughtfully chosen to create a cohesive brand identity for 82 Orleans. The attention to detail is evident, showcasing the expertise of those who designed the space.
Menu:
The menu is creatively presented on what looks like a newspaper, complete with fun elements like Sudoku and hidden picture puzzles. As I read the menu thoroughly like a newspaper, I found it great that there was a page introducing their other restaurant brands in a fun way. This unique touch adds to the dining experience, inviting guests to take their time and enjoy their meal as they peruse the menu.
Recommended dishes include their signature Monte Cristo and Volcano Mac & Cheese, as well as the H.I.P (Jalapeño in Pasta). The menu also features a variety of American-style dishes perfect for a relaxed, casual dining experience.
Dining Experience at Euljiro Restaurant, 82 Orleans
Here’s what I ordered:
- Monte Cristo: 15,000 KRW
- Volcano Mac & Cheese: 12,000 KRW
- Coleslaw: 3,000 KRW
- H.I.P (Jalapeño in Pasta): 18,000 KRW
- Homemade Lemonade (1 liter): 7,900 KRW
The food began arriving shortly after ordering, starting with the visually stunning Volcano Mac & Cheese.
Overflowing with cheese and sauce, this dish is as indulgent and flavorful as it looks. The rich, creamy cheese paired with the subtle heat of jalapeños makes for a perfect combination.
Next came the homemade lemonade, a refreshing palate cleanser that balanced the richness of the mac & cheese perfectly. It was a great choice to counteract the heavier dishes.
The Monte Cristo was another highlight, featuring layers of salami, mozzarella, and cheddar cheese. While it wasn’t quite as greasy as its American counterpart, the flavors were still delicious, especially when paired with strawberry jam.
The H.I.P pasta was a delightful surprise, with the spiciness of jalapeños and the tender texture of beef creating a harmonious blend. Adding a squeeze of lemon enhanced the dish’s flavors even further, making it a standout item on the menu.
Whenever I felt it was getting a bit heavy, I would take a big bite of coleslaw, which acted like the “American kimchi,” with its crunchy texture soothing my palate. Thanks to this, I was able to eat more. The taste is exactly what we know as classic coleslaw!
Since all menu items are available for takeout, I also ordered a set to go for my dad, who loves Monte Cristo just as much as I do.
