Even my mom loves this cafe after I brought her here once, and now she considers it one of her favorite coffee spots.

Located just a 3-minute walk from Sangwangsimni Station Exit 4, BlueJay Coffee Space is easily accessible. During the day, it’s usually quiet with plenty of open seats, and there’s limited parking available if you’re driving. I’ve often driven over during the daytime when there are available spots. At night, it’s my routine to dine at Haengdang Market and head here for coffee afterward.

It’s fascinating how this cozy, modern cafe stands out like an oasis in the midst of the bustling Haengdang Market. The cafe is stylish, with a blue-themed design that creates a striking first impression. Inside, the blend of soft lighting and artistic decor gives off a sophisticated vibe.

The cafe is cozy, with thoughtful touches everywhere. Long tables align the windows for people who want to work, and there are also seating options for two to three people in the center.

Each seating area features carefully selected decor and color schemes, adding to the artistic feel of the space.

However, the space is not particularly large, so they’ve creatively added tiered seating along the wall to enhance capacity and provide a more interactive and aesthetically pleasing experience. These stepped seats are designed for two people to sit and enjoy the view of the hall. However, the seats lack backrests, and the tables are quite low, making it a bit challenging to sit for long periods.

Menu

The menu is simple yet easy to navigate. My go-to order is a flat white, made with oat milk and decaf for 5,500 KRW. My dad usually opts for a vanilla latte, also 5,500 KRW, while my mom enjoys an Americano. You can customize your coffee by adding oat milk (+500 KRW) or making it decaf (+500 KRW).

BlueJay Coffee Space is also known for its excellent pastries like canele, croissants, financier, and egg tarts, all made with premium ingredients like Isigny butter, giving them a rich, buttery flavor.

So, today, despite feeling full, we also couldn’t resist ordering the Choco-Namu Forest Cookie for 3,000 KRW—a delicious mix of chocolate and matcha.

If you enjoy sweeter drinks, I recommend their Einspanner series. I’ve tried both the white and gray Einspanner, and both were amazing! The gray version, in particular, features a nutty, sweet black sesame cream that pairs perfectly with oat milk.

Do note, however, that BlueJay Coffee Space’s portions are smaller than what you’d find at places like Starbucks. If you’re someone who prefers large servings, you might find the size a bit surprising. For those on the go, there’s a 20% discount for takeout, making it a great option if you’re in a hurry.

And the Choco-Namu Forest Cookie? It was a delightful blend of subtle chocolate and matcha flavors—moist yet firm, and a perfect match with coffee.

Final Thoughts

For a while, I kept BlueJay Coffee Space my little secret, not wanting too many people to discover this gem. But now, it seems the word is out, and finding a seat can be tricky, especially in the evening. Nevertheless, I keep coming back for the coffee, the carefully curated ambiance, and the soothing music that never feels intrusive.

If you ever find yourself near Haengdang Market after a meal or are just looking for a chic cafe near Sangwangsimni Station, BlueJay Coffee Space should be at the top of your list.
