Located on the second floor of the building, Gino’s has a classic NYC pizza shop vibe. As you approach, you’ll notice the signs outside, showing that Gino’s has been featured on popular food shows like Suyomisikhoe and Live Today, though the signs don’t fully capture how great this place is.

Upon walking up to the second floor, you’ll be greeted by a glass door, which gives you a glimpse of the cozy, casual interior. With a seating capacity for about 30 people, the layout is perfect for a relaxed dining experience. The kitchen is fully open, so you can watch the pizzas being made from scratch, adding to the charm of the place. The tables are arranged with just the right amount of space between them for comfort, and there’s even a self-serve area where you can grab cold water, napkins, and hot sauce.

Gino’s offers a great selection of pizzas, wings, salads, and even pasta. They also have a few signature pizza sets, which seem perfect for enjoying pizza and beer with friends. For today, I decided to go lighter and opted for the classic pizza series, choosing a half-and-half option, along with my favorite hot buffalo wings.

Here’s what I ordered:

  • NY Margherita / Truffle Shroom (Half & Half Regular Size): 32,000 KRW
  • Classic Hot Buffalo Wings: 12,000 KRW
  • Coca-Cola: 3,000 KRW
  • Ginger Ale: 3,000 KRW

Just a note: when you order a half-and-half pizza, they charge based on the more expensive option.

Food Experience at Apgujeong Pizza Hot Spot, Gino’s NY Pizza

After placing my order and getting settled, I eagerly watched as my pizza was prepared. One of the great things about Gino’s is that the kitchen is entirely open, so you can see your pizza being made from scratch. It felt like I was back in NYC, with the staff even communicating in English, adding to the authenticity. The pizza dough is made fresh, and you can watch as it’s topped and baked right in front of you.

When my half-and-half pizza and buffalo wings arrived, I was beyond excited. One slice, and I was instantly transported back to New York – the chewy crust, the perfectly melted cheese, and the savory toppings were all there. The dough itself was crispy yet chewy, and I even found myself eating the crust, something I almost never do!

The truffle pizza was subtle and creamy, and while it could have used a bit more truffle flavor, it was still delicious.

The Margherita pizza was fresh, with basil and mozzarella coming together in a classic combination that’s hard to beat. My dad, who typically doesn’t eat much pizza, was loving it, which says a lot!

As for the hot buffalo wings, they were just as I remembered – tangy, spicy, and absolutely addictive. Paired with the crunchy celery and dipping sauce, they made for the perfect bite. I even asked for a little extra celery, and they happily brought more. For anyone who loves buffalo wings, these are a must-try.

By the end of the meal, we had completely cleaned our plates. It was hands down one of the best pizza experiences I’ve had in a long time.
